CFD overtime cuts??
- Hey SCC. Here is a good one for our friends at C F.D. Yesterday morning C F.D. ambulance job at the bus stop at 47th Campbell in 009. They get there and person is D.O.A. They call for us but no cars available at the time. What do they do? Put a white sheet over the body and leave. Some citizen calls 911 a half hour later and asks "Is this how something like this is handled? Beat Sgt asks for a C.F.D.supervisor on scene. Gets in touch with assigned ambulance who relates they left because it was shift change.Can't make this up and all documented in death investigation report.
You think there will be a directive to "allow" overtime so dead bodies aren't sitting in the bus shelters?

009 on days are a bunch of dogs. Good for nothing and milking jobs. It’s not like the past where days had time, this watch has kids with 3-4 years on that complained enough to get on days.

920 had the job but 009 was backlogged who knows but the body wasn’t fresh so to speak already in rigor and decomposing probably dumped or dragged out there and dumped from a near by residence.

The real question is how are the cars never available yet we see them sitting or driving right past scenes? Gotta love calling for the police for a hostile subject and nobody available. I’m not necessarily pointing fingers but many times we’ve been told nobody available and a few cars drive past. Hell I’ve been told “not my best or district.” Now most of you guys help us out immensely but you knows there are some crows out there just like our job. What’s the real reason there are never cars available? Bullshit busy work or duckers?

Actually this story is untrue. The police pulled up while ambulance was there, was all on a ring camera. They assigned a different unit that came after the first one. Not sure why the first police unit did not handle. The dispatcher said shift change when ambulance was verifying if cpd was on the way while they were waiting. Body was covered in a sheet because people were taking pictures of it. Get your facts straight 🙄
A cop came when fire dept was there but left. That body had been there for hours before that atleast they covered him. I thought he was a bum sleeping.

There should never be an ambulance WAITING on scene for a dead body, what are they going to do any further? Taking up time waiting on cops when they could be available for an ACTUAL EMERGENCY is beyond ridiculous.

This story published here is very inaccurate. 920 was onscene. Couldn’t bother getting out of the car so he just waved to CFD. The medics pronounced and documented the doa. Since 920 couldn’t be bothered they gave the info to dispatch telling them when he decides to get out of his car here’s the info he needs. Could you give him this when it’s asked for. Of course he never asked.
SCC - the original officer on scene will be taking time. The DOA was too important for him to handle. Or atleast wait for face to face relief. CFD Ambulance correctly awaited for CPD. Once CPD is on scene, it’s our scene. Obviously it’s an ME case. And that original officer didn’t relay anything to CFD. It’s going to fall on the police again

No. They did not. Even CFD dispatch admitted the ambulance left because it was shift change.
Your info is not true. No CFD units were there when the Sgt arrived. Police dispatch had to call Fire dispatch and ask them to return. They were told “ they’re not coming because they went home.” Then the Sgt asked for Fire Supervisor to respond.
