- Apparently snelling and Talley have been locking horns lately and it’s not going so well. Allegedly the 1st deputies office is a mess and is pretty much unorganized chaos on a daily basis. Snelling finally got pissed and they got into it. [Unfortunately], there is nothing he can do about it.
When you have two untalented hacks with something like six "merit" promotions between both, along with an embarrassing amount of #metoo stories and covered up criminal charges, you're going to have conflicts at the very least.

I retired a little over a year now and when I meet people for the first time and tell them I'm retired I tell them it's from the fire department. To embarrassed to let anyone know it was from the police department.

How about total amount of street time as PO’s? as Sgt’s? Total amount of wol days as Lt? They don’t even know how to do the job that they’re supervising. The whole crew up there has almost no time actually doing the job. They’ve all been in cushy units their whole careers. Of course nobody knows what to do. They need to bring in some people with actually experience that’s done district policing. Someone that’s been a wol forever and knows it inside and out. Someone that’s been on the street as a sgt for 10 years. Some old school POs that will actually tell them the truth about how their ridiculous policies make policing impossible.
Don’t forget to add me in there. If it wasn’t for merit I’d still be a super tactical warrior running and gunning in the fighting 2-4.

While I actually agree with you on this, I feel like he had a chance to really make a change but didn’t. The merit system for one, which he fully took advantage of, is beyond broken. The last Sgt’s test, our commander put in his secretary and a caps guys that just came to the district and went straight to caps. How does that make everyone in the district feel? How blind is he to not see how messed up that is? I guess because he was merit himself and doesn’t give a shit.

I think you’re looking at it wrong. The department as an organization is an embarrassment, but that doesn’t mean you were an embarrassment. I’m sure you did a lot of great things throughout your career despite the department. You don’t have to be proud the department you worked for, because let’s be honest, there’s not much to be proud of, but you should be proud of things you accomplished and did in your career. I would hope you don’t look at your career and what you did and feel embarrassed, if that’s the case, that would be on you. But I don’t think that’s the case. Don’t let the embarrassment the department has become completely take away from the great things you did. I see a lot of guys talking like this and guys I know that did amazing things and should be proud of themselves but they aren’t, they hate it just because they hated their employer. Be proud of what you did without being proud of the department. Just my 2 cents.

I have a good herb Williams story. When I was a p.o. in 005 on the early start I was given a task by the LT or WOL...when old herbie came in on the next start time he ordered me to report to him via radio, however my Lt. had given me another task. So via radio he ordered me to the station where he commenced to scream at at me and I promptly turned my back to him and he said I'm not talking to the back of your head. I was then ordered to the watch commanders office where he was politely told to fuck off by the LT and to leave me alone...this was on a Sunday for a holiday I can't remember. HERB WILLIAMS IS A TOTAL HATER AND RETARDED TO BOOT.
