It would save taxpayers a ton of cash that's going to be wasted on trail and incarceration:
A Chicago woman who allegedly drowned her 14-month-old son in Lake Michigan last week told police she “didn’t know how hard it was to drown” and begged cops to shoot her, according to a Chicago police report.
Prosecutors said Surah Amon, 31, entered the water with her son, Sir Watson, around 9:45 p.m. near the South Shore Cultural Center, 7059 South South Shore Drive. Amon “walked her 14-month-old son into Lake Michigan and let him go while in deep water,” a charging document said.
Officers responding to the scene reported finding Amon in the water, screaming that she had killed her son and wanted to die, the CPD report said. Officers entered the lake and brought her to shore, observing cuts on her wrists. Amon allegedly told first responders that Sir was still in the water.
[....] Amon allegedly admitted to letting Sir go in the water and told officers she was suicidal after being kicked out of her home by the boy’s father. According to police, she said she “didn’t know how hard it was to drown” and repeatedly asked officers to shoot and kill her.
Along with the cop-killer convicted earlier this week, there certainly seems to be an uptick in people begging to be killed by CPD.

and the family claims they asked for "crisis intervention" but yet left her alone with this poor innocent helpless baby when no one showed up? I thought there were teams of mental health professionals that conehead said should respond to a "crisis" like this?!?? I smell a lawsuit coming.........

Yep. They gonna blame the police. Sister said they called the police and they showed up three hours earlier but didn't do anything. Another report says the baby daddy kicked her out of his apartment and she went to the lake to drown.
I have you to know such evil 💔 just don’t happen in the “ghetto” but also in affluent neighborhoods… It’s really sad that People feel it’s ok that such tragedy is acceptable and expected when people are poor…

There are numerous sure fire ways to kill yourself. All cheap and economical. No experience necessary. Lay down on railroad tracks with the train approaching. If you're near the CTA reach over and touch the third rail. Find a building, get to say, the eighth floor and do a swan dive. I remember a guy wrap himself up in chains with some barbell plates and jump in the lake. She could have went out furthur into the lake and she would have succeeded in killing herself. Point is, SHE AIN'T CRAZY. SHE WAS COGNIZANT OF HER ACTIONS. SHE DIDN'T WANT TO DIE. SHE WAS THROWING A TANTRUM. No one would give a shit if she held her breath til she passed out so she used the only thing she had as leverage for attention. Her babies life. No mental breakdown. No postpartum depression. She was completely aware of her actions. Her words prove it. She chose life. And she chose to murder her child.

This issue has persisted for decades. Let's not forget that our FOP lobbied to invest our pension funds to Daley's nephew. Mark Donahue even came to roll call to tell us that this was a good investment and that we needed to diversify our pension funds to earn more money. All the money was lost and Daley’s nephew got 8 million dollars out of the deal.
