What would the media do without independent voices tipping them off to things they ought to have discovered on their own? You know....like "journalism" is supposed to be:
Grappling with a massive budget deficit, Chicago Public Schools is ending the practice of providing crossing guards for intersections that exclusively serve private school students.
Chicago Public Schools said providing crossing guards for private schools is outside its core mission. And facing a $734 million deficit, officials are looking for savings wherever they can find them. The district also said at least two of the crossing guards were students who attend suburban Catholic schools.
All together, CPS is eliminating 102 crossing guard positions, a third of which only serve private school students. CPS had 732 crossing guard positions last year.
And as we alluded to this past Saturday, it would appear that pretty much all of the cuts are at private / Catholic schools. Other cuts were at those "Safe Passage" locations already manned by parents getting $10-per-hour or more.
Did you know that at many private schools, the teachers have a rotating schedule where they actually act as crossing guards? We say try that at CPS, but you know the CTU would demand even more money than the crossing guards were making.

Under Obozo the Propaganda Ban was repealed, allowing government to use media to lie to U.S. citizens. Media outlets gatekeepers give leftists a pass as far as not reporting on their shenanigans and malfeasance. The public knows media is full of $hite and has abandoned them as a source for news, turning instead to independent internet sources. Fake media’s financing is drying up under the scrutiny by DOGE of USAID. Our tax dollars will no longer be used to propagandize the public. One of the pillars of the left’s control is being chopped down. Academia is undergoing this same process. There has been a Great Awakening of the sleeping giant. Look out.
How times have changed. In the 60's, when i was a young lad at St. Benedicts, I was a crossing guard. They actually gave kids some responsibilities. Great time to be a kid.

Stop giving free breakfast and lunch to students and make their parent(s) feed them. That will reduce a lot of that deficit. We were not well off when we were kids but we always got a bag lunch or paid for a cafeteria lunch.

now that funny,,,, they pay the "parents" $10 an hour of taxpayers' money to do what a parent is supposed to do,,, protect their kids,,,,, they obviously do not have a job or why would they be standing out there for $10

Yeah & good for them. Why should my tax dollars go toward supporting your Church’s school? You want to send your kids there, fine, but that needs to be 100% on your dime.

In fairness they're not public schools. Increase tuition and hire your own.
I can't agree with this. As a kid I did many times, 99th street south. But now there's more traffic and faster cars. Not to mention Illinois gave DLs to a bunch of illegals.
The value of the Golden Rule is found more in the do not do to another what you want no other to ever do to you, than in the commonly thought of do unto side of that golden coin of wisedom.
After 1/2 a century, the ratio of much more abiding by this rule to those who disregard it has shifted quite a bit.
The ones who value not the Golden Rule are confident that they will not be on the receiving end of their ways.
I chalk these on a reoccuring basis.

I’m ashamed everyday that my tax dollars goes to pay for this garbage school system. Anyone who really cares about the future and real education of children would want school choice and vouchers. Let’s forget that teachers are essential and shouldn’t be allowed to strike. They are publicly funded & contributions from any public worker union should be limited and solely from the individual not the union. As for that, no contributions should be allowed as a payroll deduction or as a payroll deduction to any entity funding political contributions (to prevent graft & strong arming). Honestly, I’m actually for not allowing any Union of public workers to endorse candidates. You want to do that- plant a sign on your lawn.
Nice, but people are really awful drivers now. I cant tell you how often I see cars that completely ignore the “Stop” sign on busses unloading or loading kids.

When the crossing guard at Damen and Grace wasn't there, they had a police officer take her place. Of course that was probably because of Area 6 on the corner as well...

Well taxpayers should not pay for crossing guards for private schools, especially if they are under a religious denomination. 1st Amendment does not allow for this. The pedophiles at those schools can cross their own brainwashed kids. Freedom of religion = freedom from religion.

Hey, if you went to Ben’s in the 60s, you may remember that a crossing guard wrapped her arms around a couple of kids to save them from an errant motorist. As I remember the story, the crossing guard was either a Christian Scientist or a Jehovahs Witness. I was a youngster myself. But I remember something about limited medical intervention for the crossing guard that was seriously injured. Those kids are 65yo today thanks to that guard.
You want to send ur kid to CPS but not on my dime. You pay for baby education or have the bastards sperm downer pay. Tired of paying for you useless fucks!
