Gun Story Goes National
Twanda Willingham is suing the city of Chicago after being shot with a pistol that had been “relinquished to Chicago police at a gun turn-in event,” according to the NRA-ILA.
FOX 32 reported Willingham was shot in August 2023 with a Glock 21 “surrendered months earlier at a Chicago Police Department gun buyback.”
Willingham subsequently filed suit against Chicago, after it was discovered the gun had allegedly “disappeared while in transit between the [location of the buy back event] and a nearby police station—just blocks apart.”
This is the gun that disappeared at the 006 "buy back" event and ended up being used another shooting....the event that is receiving renewed attention due to the off-duty behavior of a certain moron.
The hits just keep piling up. Good thing we have a "consent decree" in place for accountability and all that shit, right?

The more the Department and City try to cover up the antics and possible criminal behavior of this idiot, the deeper in crap the City will be. Anyone who has been sued understands that it takes between 5-7 years to go from incident date to civil trial date. So this will be in the news a long time. It's not going away soon.

This is a story that is bad all around. Im surprised the lawsuit wasn't filed earlier. Knowing what we know now about this officer...well that just adds to the bad...he sounds like a rogue officer who makes all of our jobs more difficult. In my career path, I have known several of there so called officers who think they are smarter than the system. I have learned that the first and last words out of their mouths were bullshit. Some were sent to prison, some were fired, and some retired. Dont ever get wrapped up in their bullshit, and call it out as soon as you see it...G-d speed officers. You are still doing the Lords work.
An allegation from the lawsuit claims that Ofc. KR was the Officer who 'took' the weapon in, she was subsequently killed by Ofc. CB...
This whole thing smells of a cover-up, CB must have some pretty heavy clout, who I hope gets outed spectacularly...
So no one on the cops knows who stole this gun and sold it? Limited people, where was it last seen officially? This is a process of elimination investigation but the lack of interest in solving this internally makes police look bad. This and the Baker thing reinforces that you will circle the wagons and that the Department can't police itself hence giving rise to the COPAs and Consent Decrees.

Harvey PD had a similar situation a few years back with a gun used in a shooting that was requested by the States Attorney’s in Markham to be brought to court for the trial and it went MIA. It turned out a detective in Harvey stole it so it couldn’t be used as evidence at trial because his “homeboy” was the defendant in the case. It seems 3rd world Harvey is very similar to 3rd world Shitcago. I wonder why they’re so similar as far as corruption and incompetence goes. What could the link be between these two entities? 🧐

Amen. Who do we root for if one of "our own" takes the life of one of our own? The investigation into the death of PO Rivera should be very thorough and leave no stone unturned. Why? To determine, without doubt, the cause of her death, and to determine, without any doubts, the mindset of Baker when he shot her so that there is no doubt whether it was intentional or not. Both deserve that this investigation not be white-washed.
Sgt Tim Finley is related to Officer Carlos Baker. For everyone wondering why all his transgressions are overlooked, it is most likely due to nepotism. Sgt Finley is a connected department member who was promoted to sergeant by merit and was a recent graduate of the Northwestern school of police staff and Command. More than likely, Sgt Finley will be the recipient of another merit promotion to lieutenant. Business as usual for the Chicago police department. I really hope Officer Riveras' family looks into this and brings light to the corruption and nepotism within the department.
