The media picked up on the building calamity that (if it all goes south) will likely end a number of careers and drag a few politicians down with the ship:
Carlos Baker, the Chicago police officer who shot and killed his partner Krystal Rivera during a foot pursuit earlier this year, allegedly attacked a female officer late Sunday at a bar in Wicker Park, the Chicago Sun-Times and Illinois Answers Project have learned.
The officer who was injured in the attack filed a police report while she was being treated for a split lip at Rush University Medical Center, alleging that Baker and another woman beat her late Sunday at DSTRKT Bar & Grill, 1540 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Baker and another woman approached the 29-year-old officer while she was waiting for a rideshare vehicle in the bar’s vestibule and pressured her to delete videos taken on her cellphone, according to police sources. During an argument over the videos, Baker and the woman allegedly “hit her in her facial area.”
The injured officer escaped, with the help of others, and had a friend take her to Rush Hospital, where she got two stitches to close a cut on her swollen upper lip, sources said. An evidence technician documented the officer’s injuries at her home.
She told investigators she wasn’t at the bar with Baker or the other woman, and didn’t identify herself as an officer during the attack, sources said. It’s not clear what’s on the videos.
We recognized more than a few quotes in the Slum Times coverage, because we also received the same information, to wit, the Case Report narrative. We would remind everyone that unauthorized viewing and distributing of CLEAR reports is punishable by suspension. Just ask anyone who looked at the Case Report involving the son of the 9.5 digit midget who averaged one-to-three days.

Why would anyone go down with this guy? He has a handful of years on the job, broke multiple department rules in different incidents. You could fire him for firing his gun and never telling anyone about it, acting surprised and making a show of it at the hospital that he had shot his gun somehow without his knowledge (Wasn't there, that is what Catanzara said in his video defending this fool). You could fire him for this battery incident for the battery itself, for disparaging the department's image/mission, or if he is somehow claiming some type of self-defense for not reporting the crime committed against him. You could fire him for killing his partner out of negligence/incompetence or willful disregard for human life.
What is the real reason he is being kept around and not stripped? Who would work with this guy on a beat car? Who would work with this guy in a unit?

You don’t have much experience it seems. A victim can call 911 and inform them they received a report, usually a domestic, earlier when they were at a hospital (ETs rarely go to hospitals after Covid). The ET will then go to the person’s residence and take photos. That’s what the report was trying to communicate, though it was poorly communicated. The off duty PO did not “order” an ET off duty, they called like any victim would and requested an ET respond to their residence.

Those clubs have dozens of cameras. Even if the videos were deleted, and not automatically backed up to the cloud, there will be plenty to watch.
CPD is a cut-and-paste department. I’ve seen people lift three or four words from another report to paste into their own instead of writing the narrative themselves. It is a recipe for disaster, legally and grammatically. I’m not sure how these reports on the same incident that are exactly the same ever flew at 26 and Cal. In real life people don’t describe things the exact same way – why do cops do it? It strains credulity. If we separate offenders so they can’t “get their story straight” why do we, as police officers, write the same narrative and expect anyone to believe we are telling the truth?
This is why you pay union dues, to protect the officers rights who in reality, should have been terminated long ago.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On November 10, 2023, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) received a
telephone complaint relative to alleged misconduct by members of the Chicago Police Department
(CPD). alleged that he had been stopped earlier that day, at approximately
9:42 a.m., without justification, for driving a stolen vehicle. This occurred at 50 East 95th Street,
Chicago, IL 60628. was forcibly removed from his vehicle, handcuffed, and searched.
The vehicle was also searched. Subsequently it was determined that the vehicle was not stolen,
and was released without receiving any citations. No Investigatory Stop Report (ISR)
was submitted by the officers, nor was a stop receipt provided to 2 A Traffic Statistical

The two officers who had initiated the traffic stop, Officers Carlos A. Baker and Jacob F.
Cypranowski, searched the vehicle along with a responding officer, Officer Jacob A. Mitchell, Jr.
was handcuffed by Officer Baker and searched by Officers Baker and Cypranowski.
COPA exonerated Officers Baker and Cypranowski for their initiation of the investigatory
stop. COPA sustained allegations: against Officer Baker for searching without
justification, against Officers Baker, Cypranowski and Mitchell regarding the search of
vehicle without justification, and against Officers Baker and Cypranowski for
handcuffing without justification and for failing to submit an ISR.
Allegations against another officer (Officer Imani Jasper Baker) were determined to be
unfounded.

Anyone who listened to the radio from that night knew something was OFF, immediately. The cover-up started from the jump with his “shots fired at the police”. Stated twice. Then the weird, “squad, my parters not responsive. We’re taking her to university!” — except he didn’t go with his partner to U of C. If he had, he’d have had to answer questions on the way about what happened. Instead, he stays on scene to further his coverup, proudly proclaiming, “we cleared the house, one’s a rifle, one’s a pistol. The whole apartment is clear” to double-down on his story that see? Shots were fired at police and there’s even guns on scene! It must be true! And he’s such a hero for clearing the house, what a great cop. The most disturbing part? When almost ten minutes later, he orders EMS for *himself* — “Roll me an ambulance for myself please” conveniently not mentioning any actual injuries. But he knew he had to get off the scene to get away from those pesky rolling BWC and having to answer hard questions. He powered down his BWC immediately. Did he try to clean off the GSR on his hands on the way to the hospital?
Sgt does not have to approve the report. I certainly would not approve that report until the grammatical errors are corrected. Embarrassing!
