Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias felt left out, so he started whining about license plates:
Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias is warning federal immigration agents that swapping or altering license plates during the Trump administration's enforcement operations is against the law and "will not be tolerated."
Giannoulias issued the warning after reports surfaced that ICE agents have been changing or flipping state-issued license plates while carrying out what he described as "military-style deportation efforts" in the Chicago area.
A video circulating on social media appears to show a federal agent telling someone, "You can record all you want. We change the plates out every day."
In response, Giannoulias said, "Swapping out license plates or tampering with them to avoid or conceal detection is illegal, unsafe and will not be tolerated in Illinois. No one, including federal agents, is above the law, and we intend to hold them accountable, especially while driving on our roadways. This is a matter of public safety and protecting the wellbeing of our communities."
Maybe Alexi missed the news over the past few months while counting his share of the bailout money from the Broadway bank collapse (costing taxpayers nearly $400 million) but there's an entire committee of political hacks currently drafting rules, ordinances and laws forbidding Illinois law enforcement from enforcing Compliance Violations.
No one has to have current stickers, illuminated license plates, or front plates at all, intact windshields or an entire swath of things that the Legislature says are required, but can't be enforced against politically convenient persons.
And then there's the whole Federal Supremacy thing.

I had an account at Broadway bank on Broadway back in the 90’s and it was crazy. I always had more $ in my account that I should have had. Nothing too crazy but a few times it was $2000 to $3000 more than I should have had. I took that cash out asap and never heard a Peep about it.

GOV vehicles are not subject to state licensing requirements; they come to us with USG license plates from GSA; we swap them for covert plates as a matter of convenience for undercover purposes, to not have a USG license plate. If you stop giving them to us, we’ll make up our own.

Him and a lovely female were struck from behind while stopped at a light. We rolled up and stopped without any dispatch call and Alex became very nervous wanting no report and just wanted to get out of there. He was quick to let us know who his daddy was and specifically the broadway bank. The bank tied to the illegal loan scandal. My fto had to coax him into a report , took down his info and because he was in such a hurry to leave, dropped off a report to the bank the next day. As my fto stated- C-Y-A with a report of the facts . Can’t help wonder why ol Alex was in such a hurry to leave , but plenty of speculation .

It is a common practice of Federal law enforcement to use undercover license plates, some from other states, all leading to a dead end when run by local law enforcement. I was on a Federal Task force and I always had out of state plates. The Federal Supremacy clause will stop these liberal clowns in their tracks. The leftists are grasping for straws and do not have a solid election platform except to bash anything related to Trump.

The SOS has a list of plates which will be flagged if they are run on a LE computer system. The holder of those plates are notified, so they know who is running those plates.
