How long does it take to grade a scantron test? About ten seconds, tops? It's been how many weeks now for the Lieutenant test? Gotta "massage" the answers to get the desired racial make-up, not the smartest people who actually studied, knew the answers, and could apply their knowledge to the job.
- ....words out from HR. Passing score for LT part 1 will be a 60%. I’m hearing barely any DEI candidates were even close to a 70%.

I know this is a bit OT but I feel it needs to be readdressed because of the level of seriousness. If the city is really considering getting rid of several units citywide how will all this manpower shifting around work ? I’m hearing 100% mounted unit is done (even people I know in the unit is stating this ) all those officers have a good amount of time on the job. Look at the detail unit it’s said they only have 15 officers actually assigned to it. So when you subtract RDO’s furloughs medical what are you really left to work with ? Possibly 7-9 officers ? And that’s supposed to cover a Cubs game on the north side and a possible concert or Sox game on the south side ? Hopefully they get disbanded as well and those experienced officers like officer MT get put in some district where he can immediately help the younger officers and show them how real police work is done. … God bless and we can only hope

For anyone wondering: it was a 130 question multiple choice exam. If this is true, those “passing” could have a whopping 52 questions wrong.

A simple guess gives you a 25% chance to get a question you don't know right. Take the 60% and assume the guesses netted them 10% more than they knew.
The few new cars they are buying will be marked, d-unit will be in uniform and be responding to calls for service as it should be,as detective is not a rank just assigned as detective! Now whee is my computer waiting on ot to work, netflix next program!

You can score a low percentage on a promotional exam but you need 70% on e-learning?? WTF is wrong with this Dept!! Proves that the useless hacks in this dept that cant pass a test needs to lower the bar so they can pass and make merit. So disgraceful.
It took CFD 4 years to grade a recent lieutenants test.
maybe, just maybe some of those future dei Lt's got the first 2 questions right,, 1st and last name,,,, after that they will claim the test was racist

I have never passed a test scoring only 60 percent. CPD must want the illusion that these people passed a difficult test and were not promoted by the hand of clout. Let's suppose that all the favored people had the answers to the test in advance because we know that it has happened before. And they all need to score better than 60 percent? Now there is more room to promote the real morons who couldn't even score 60 percent on a test when given all the answers! I guess that's what the 30 percent merit selection process is for.
Every promotion list, the department falls another notch.
You should feel lucky in has only been weeks. On CFD, it takes years for promotional exams to come out.

Mounted Unit should be disbanded. Don’t do anything and internal struggles that brought not needed attention to themselves. Event Unit is compensated by the events that use them. Won’t be going anywhere.

Watches off of people. We were told from the beginning to use analog watches only…they should’ve been removed and their tests shredded. These are the people that will be approving arrest reports and cannot even pay attention to the detail of having an analog watch…from the people I saw get the watches taken from them they probably don’t know what analog means but it is the watch with the hands

130 questions on the test. some ppl were walking out in approx 1 hr after the test started, which means just about finishing 2 questions per minute. Some of these questions+ answers are half a page long.
Go figured.
So when will the results be sent? All of these study groups are hounding people to join and they are starting as early as tomorrow.
Before I became a cop I took paramedic training. That was in 1982. Scoring less than 80% on any exam was failing. The nurses and doctors running the program didn't want any graduates being faced with a situation they "got a D in". We had stacks of training manuals and medical books that reiterated a strong point: " Someone's life will depend on what you learn." As the ScanTron sheet was fed into the grader it clicked on every incorrect answer. It caused beads of sweat and some students fainted as they awaited their fate.
Another future merit
Elearning is a 70%, weapons qualification is a 70% but the highest ranking test on this job is a 60%? And you wonder why we’re the laughing stock of the nation.

Good point. These dummies must be cheating on e learning. Where are the federal consent decree monitors? 55% is a passing score and qualified people are passed over . For a political hack, or female with great oral skills???
