Grew up in a house with 4 kid’s mouths to feed. Breakfast- Cheerios. Lunch: bologna or PBJ sandwich an apple and a carton of school milk. Did other kids have better lunches, they sure did but none of us starved. There were no programs- other than the milk for everyone. These kids will eat the cookie from the lunch tray and throw the rest in the trash.
