City Hall BBQ?
We can't find a single mention anywhere in the media:
- Arsonist attempted to set City Hall on fire on Friday about 10:20pm. No one knew about it until this morning. The entire incident was captured on POD. Arsonist sprayed an accelerant on the outside stone and sidewalk of the exterior of LaSalle and Randolph. Nice fire light show but it all fizzled away in less than 5mins. The house mice inside City Hall were all asleep and had no idea.
So granite, limestone and marble doesn't burn.
And no one saw it, reported it, or responded to it, the incident only being revealed when someone spotted the scorch marks on the building when the sun rose?

I’m sure it won’t be the last incident. It’s sad to say the city is falling apart. It might have been someone who got their taxes raised or got a camera ticket. The state of the city and the management of our beloved department is in shambles. I’ll just be glad to retire in four years and abandon our once loved city.

Those rooms do not need "24 hour surveillance". If something happens where it's needed, then someone from the desk or watch secretary can easily walk over and begin to work the cameras. There is no more shot spotter so send them back to the streets.

I recently retired and settled out of state, what are the property tax raises in 016, specifically Edison Park?? That could have been me, but I am still delirious about selling my overpriced residence in Chicago and moving to a much larger home with a 1.2 acre lot for a lot less money.

I work in the SDSC room. It is not easy. You have to stay alert, listen to the radio and be able to think quickly on your feet.
