Something is going on in 019 when they get 5 sgts off a list! They lost about 6 sgts in the last year and a half to other districts, not units! That says alot about that place!

Stinar takes a merit spot and is put in 016. This is exactly why morale is terrible on this job.

So many slow districts were given Sgts instead of opening bid spots for other Sgts with time to move. No reason 20 or even 24 should be a new Sgt spot.

Not one went to a specialized unit and somehow we ended up getting Sgt Khoushaba back right out of the accademy. How is that possible?

Hey VETERANS pass up the SGT promotion because if you have more than 20 years on they’ll put you somewhere far away while putting people with 8-10 years on in closer to home districts. One of the recently promoted sgts spoke about this and was like I guess they realized they need to put people closer to home otherwise the city ends up the loser in the end- Why doesn’t anyone talk about this? Sgt union? Contract consideration? How come I don’t ever hear about the Sgt union is there even one? The corrupt will always go down in the end and I already have the last laugh but this should be addressed for all you future promotions

OT: the amount of overtime for Sgt’s at 376 is ridiculous. There are limited duty Sgts that works at least one RDO for “staff shortages” even though 376 has 2 Captains, 5 Lt’s and 17 Sgts. C’mon, Sgts in patrol don’t get this kinda overtime. Limited duty Sgt’s should not have the right to work OT (especially in call back). Who’s in charge over there - that’s right, no one.

I’m surprised by how many sergeants are coming back to the districts they used to work in. On one hand, it’s great that they already know the area and the people, but it could also make supervision a bit trickier, especially when it comes to setting boundaries and maintaining objectivity.

Those who have done it know it’s really no different than any other scene. Put up some tape, do a walk through to find evidence, don’t disturb evidence, ensure notifications are made, Sit and wait. It isn’t hard, this job is simple. We are people with 60 credit hours. Don’t think you’re intelligent because you’ve corded off a crime scene before.
Do any districts even have a full time SDSC sergeant? The one in my district is just a sergeant who works the street on third watch.

It's not a bad place and very few sgts have left. A couple retired and one went to work inside somewhere else.
Sgts only leave 019 to go back to the D unit. 019 isn't a bad place to be a Sgt

Kid from 015 works 2 years on the street then kisses butt a around in the mayors and superintendent detail for 3 years. Makes merit Sgt. with no real ribbons or amy experience. It's insane how merit works, not earned...it's given.

004 still sucks. Km is too nice and tries to take care of too many people. Sgt Big Dm does absolutely nothing. Sgt sc is never there. So these Sgt’s going there can cover some more for them. I’m glad that I went to 022

But take the pat on the back(side) and let the department encourage you to play the part until the next round of phone calls gets you inside again to hide because you are too cute to fail. No leadership capabilities, no respect, no integrity, and that's one of the many reasons we all push beat cars knowing full well the whole thing is a charade.

Makes more sense to keep the young intelligent sergeants happy. If they’re scoring high in the exam to be promoted with ten years on, they’re going to be at least sergeants for 20 years. Let the old timers who barely make it burn out the last few years of their career in some far district. They’re on their way out anyway.
Not good. Too many problems and will result in EEO complaints certainly, that is if officers are willing to put their names on complaints. Send a guy back to his watch he’ll of course take care of his buddies and girlfriends over the others. It’s inevitable.
