SAFE-T Act still Failing
Or is this another E.M. success story?
A Chicago man already on pretrial release shot a 20-year-old woman in the face and when cops tracked him down, they found a cut-off ankle monitor and two guns in his apartment, prosecutors said. Daniel May, 19, is the third person accused of shooting or trying to shoot someone in Chicago this year while awaiting trial for another case.
Officers responded at 6:43 p.m. on January 13 to reports of a person shot in the 6700 block of South Crandon Avenue. The victim waved them down and explained that a man and a woman had shot her and were still inside a nearby apartment, armed, prosecutors said in a detention filing.
The cops followed a blood trail to an apartment and detained 21-year-old Maleah Carter when she answered the door. May was spotted exiting a rear bedroom and was also detained, according to prosecutors. Officers found a 9mm shell casing in the bathroom and a bullet-sized hole in the nearby hallway wall. Prosecutors said the path of the bullet traced through the wall into a closet and out through a sliding door into the living room. Two young children were allegedly present in the apartment.
Officers also recovered a cut-off ankle monitor, two firearms, and a firearm spring in the rear of the building.
If only there was a minimally occupied secure set of buildings that could be used to detain criminals until trial and sentencing somewhere in Cook County.

The safety act is only helping criminals and hurting the working police. Only a fool is hard charging with this law in place. Where is the FOP on the Safety Act.
Maybe the governor of the state could do something?
It is time to repeal SAFE-T! -It never should have been made law.
26th and California is a good start
There is a you tube video showing a recent home monitoring subject using a Milwaukee angle grinder with a cut off blade cutting his ankle monitor off on the same day he made it home from 26th street?
Guess the chief judge needs to watch some video?
Jelly Belly Pigster's re-election commercials don't mention this.
Where is FOP?????
The television ads for our current governor always mentions the Safety Act as one of his pet projects that he happily endorsed. Like it changed our society in a positive way. Total BS. It has been the ruin of our safety. I’ve recently moved out of the city but travel in and out of it all the time in my vehicle. I always have a plan in the back of my mind of what to do when these ferals try to trap me in and approach in my direction while armed. This isn’t just me with a bit of PTSD from working for CPD for 30 years, it should be all of us thinking in a similar fashion mostly thanks to that Safety Act passing through.
He would but he's to busy writing letters to the white house and telling them what to do and bad mouthing everything trump does. Fat jagoff
Unless and until the public is actually made AWARE of what is really going on out on the streets, the crimes hidden by the Dems and the liberal MSM (who totally control the narrative) get no play into their voting decisions. The Free Shit Army will still vote against their own best interests.
until such time as our election process gets seriously cleaned-up, we will get more and more of this sort of FU from the cook county crew that runs Illinois.
The only possible clean-up is Federal law enforcement and given Blonde and Patel are leading those agencies, I expect zero reform or serious investigations. The SAFE-T act is coming nationwide soon enough. IL is just working the bugs out for everyone ...
The Board was told years ago that we have the Safty Act because of John’s big mouth and have done nothing about it.
The Governor DID do something. He SIGNED this POS legislation. Wasn't this the bill that was originally some kind of insurance bill that they passed in the middle of the night, despite pushback from police organizations and prosecutors throughout the state?
The Chief Judge is just another clown in the Crook County Judicial Clown Circus. Whether its mismanaging cases or their monitoring program it's all the same pile of crap.
And what is this new bill in the legislature of KILLINOIS that will automatically shield and hide (destroy?) the past criminal records history of arrestees? Can this possibly be true? That employers, landlords, etc would not be able to know who/what kind of person they may hire/rent to? Seriously?

UN-SAF-T Act is in need of Repeal. The Stat Numbers are in. Complete Failure from the start, and tremendous waste of Taxpayer Dollars. Prove me wrong.
