Insurance companies aren't in the business of losing money, so they increase rates based on real actuarial recommendations and studies that show democrat policies of rewarding crime instead of punishing it are money losers for them, so you're going to pay a pretty penny for basic coverage.

Pay cash, drive a beater and only get liability insurance. If you get into an accident, you buy another beater. Been doing it for years. Its the only way to battle rising insurance costs. Used cars go 200k these days. When I started driving, they only got around 75-90k before you had to junk them.

I love when politicians who make their money off of tax dollars and can't manage their own family's business properly, tell private companies how to run their business. That is some BS policies. I've had my fence damaged by the same big truck driver (who shouldn't have a CDL) twice. The second time was a H & R with $3900. Hit & Run in a commercial vehicle is supposed to mean disqualification, but they would not prosecute! I had video of it. Tried getting State Police to take it, but they refused.
I thought when we all get insurance the cost goes down. We need to convince the holdouts that by not getting it - it makes us pay more. Not sure how to get the Democrats hold outs to buy insurance. They are used to everything is free.

Um, excuse me, but if the insurance companies can't make a profit, you will have the NJ experience: Insurance companies refusing to write policies in the state and closing up shop, leaving consumers with even fewer options and high rates. I'm no fan of the industry but I've seen it happen. Get rid of the soft on high jacking, care thieves and you might get the rate down. Yeah yeah, sure.
Until they don't even offer insurance. Look at fire insurance in CA as an example.

Insurance rates in Illinois actually go up when you become a senior, even if you have no accidents and drive as few as 6000 miles a year. They claim it is the failing eyesight of seniors. I pay $2400 a year for two cars.

This bill sounds similar to one Wretched Gretchen Whitmer passed in Michigan regarding the cost of catastrophic coverage attached to auto insurance medical. She claimed the premiums were too high and demanded a freeze on premiums. Guess what happened? Auto insurers froze those premiums, and CUT BENEFITS to insured who had paid for the coverage and who were receiving treatments. Her act caused one family (upper middle class, BTW) to lose their home and draw down the husband's rather large 401K holdings to make up the difference, b/c an uninsured illegal put his wife into a wheelchair and a rest home.
Good. Lock these mutts up, get fingerprints and a photo, so when they do something serious, like murder, it can help out. Seen a few high profile rapes/murders greatly assisted by looking at body cams from their stops/arrests for minor shit. Lock them up for everything you can, Fuck’em.

Especially in a demolition derby like Chicago - just get a $500 car from the auction, liability, drive the shit out of it. MAYBE change the oil once in a while... when it gets crazy, take it back up to the auction and run it through the chutes for a couple hundred, and pick up another beater...

Insurance companies are scam artists. Fuck them all if I pay years and years of premiums the least they can do is not hassle me when submitting 1 claim.
Illinois used to send you a card to report your insurance coverage before renewing your sticker. I had a 15 year old pickup every year I got the card.
Far too many people still will leave a vehicle running with
keys in the ignition, or the fob left inside of the vehicle.
