Rahm About to Get Spanked Again

Better make plans for after the Christmas holidays:
  • The Chicago Teachers Union has released the results of a test strike vote, which was held last week.

The union said 97 percent of members would vote to authorize a strike, if necessary.

The potential strike could happen after the holiday break.

School officials have warned of massive layoffs if state funding does not come through.
97%. Wow.

Before anyone feels sorry for the CTU they funded buses along with that commie union - SEIU - to Ferguson before the Grand Jury decision was reached.

They want a Social Justice position at each school to watch the police and the security guards.

A decade ago when they were regularly getting bigger raises than us it was because they dropped down to only paying 2% out of their checks for their pension. Their gross on the checks stayed the same but the net went up by under funding their pensions.

They are not are friends. Let's face it all of the non-sworn unions hate us and the Sgt.'s and Firemen sold us out in the last contract.

Fop and the retiree's are funding 95% of the cost of fighting for your/our/their health care benefits.

My daughter is a new CPS employee. Not a teacher but a specialist working in north side and west side schools with pre-k thru 5th grade students with special needs.
she was raised in a suburban police family and understands unions and the need for them. Both her parents were union members and I (her dad, was union president). Karen Lewis has a "set" on her that many men should take note of. She stood up to Rahm and put the little arrogant wimp in his place. As any union should be..................... remember...
UNITED WE STAND/DIVIDED WE BEG!
97%...........God love her!!!
All public service unions, police, fire, streets/san should be so lucky to have that kind of support from the rank and file. That's why the CTU brought Rahm to his knees, UNITY!
Let this be a lesson to other unions planning to take on the little dictator.

Police can't strike or even talk about doing so, but can police joke about it? Or is that out of bounds too? Could you even imagine? How great would it be? Let's just say 24 hours. The city would be at it's knees.

They strike, they get strike pay, they get a vacation after the holidays. Then they get paid to teach the make-up days too.

You know Rahm will have to back down, and settle for a contract not firing anyone. He will spend the money to settle. After all, he is not spending his money, just yours.

Time for the Teachers Union to learn the lesson of the Air traffic Controllers. I like a lot of my kids teachers, but there are many who should be pushing a broom. This Union is crazy. The top is too heavy, too high priced and they are paid pretty well all the way through.

They better explain to us why this strike is necessary because I don't care if they all get fired.

Yeah sure, those teachers are going to get their butts out on a picket line in the cold and snow......I don't think so! Remember the last strike that was held, nice weather and they really didn't picket like they had during previous strikes. All talk with no action. The mayor is laughing his ass off at the teachers union.

Fuck these teachers. If they strike Rahman should just fire em all and close CPS as we know it. Budget solved. Re- open as all charter schools. It will buy another 20 years or so before budget problems catch up with them. I

OT, just had a look at the new FLOP magazine. There is a mistake in THE VERY FIRST SENTENCE! (Dean-O says "formally" when he clearly means to say"formerly"). Dean, don't play with big words if you don't know what they mean.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch.......FLOP losers (Shields Team) are suing an elected board member. FLOP's attorneys are on the case. Isn't it a conflict for FLOP's lawyers to sue a sitting board member? Is this where dues money goes? Pathetic.

SOLIDARITY!

$$$$$$$$$$$$

The State FOP Lodge is going to settle with Shields. The Chicago Lodge will fight but eventually have to pay Shields too. Question Mr. Anonymous: Should lodge go after the shitty-wide team members who orchestrated this coup?

Jimmy boy keep fighting and bring down the guy who ran interference for you too.

The teachers are walking into a trap. Madigan and Rauner will not provide a bailout for CPS. CPS will run out of money and be insolvent in January or February 2016. Rahm will have CPS file for bankruptcy, and he will blame Rauner and Madigan and vice versa. Meanwhile a federal bankruptcy court will toss out the CTU contract, fire a thousand or more teachers and cram down a 30-50% pension reduction down retiree's throats while closing a large number of schools. It is a setup. Just like in Wisconsin, the politicians at afraid to screw with cops and firemen, but everybody else is fair game.

Good point. Very good point. Do you talk to your kids? Where do you think this Progressive crap begins? Let them strike and fire them all. There are plenty in the wings, or hire them back at a lower wage.

They aren't a union, they are a Socialist Army and they are working against this Country interests.

Should the State Lodge and our Lodge be suing the parties that a responsible for the violation of Shields due process. Or should the membership bear the costs of a group of back stabbers numbering 6-8??

First off, if you read the article the 97 percent is somewhat dubious. The city probably relishes a long strike so they can save a bunch of payroll money and maybe put a hurt on these beasts so they aren't so quick next time.

The kids HAVE to have 180days of class, whether there's a strike, or not. There's no 'payroll savings' if there's a strike.

Why would we do that? Put the old City-Wide guys back in? That would be going in the wrong direction. Put in a new bunch who are not unit reps or doing committee work? Putting in a bunch of want-a-bees is also the wrong direction too. Too early now for an endorsement but a hybrid of qualified experienced people is in order.
