- The mother of murdered nine-year-old Tyshawn Lee is being bashed on the Internet for using money intended for his funeral expenses to buy a car, but she is defending the purchase.
A total of 727 people had donated to the GoFundMe site “Help Me Lay My Baby to Rest” as of 4 p.m. Saturday, contributing $17,492. The fund’s creator writes specifically on the GoFundMe page that the donations were to be used to lay Tyshawn to rest. But Karla Lee said in several profanity-laced Instagram posts that were posted Saturday, before she took the page private, that yes, she used it for a car and that her son mostly likely would approve.
“They already took my son,” she said in an enraged voice. “I walk to work. I get on the bus. I’m not trying to be a target for nobody.”
Why would you be a target? Daddy has been saying the homicide didn't involve him in the least. He's completely innocent of any involvement in the death of his spawn.

When this woman asked for money to specifically bury her child, and many people donated in excess of $100, that was for a specific reason, not for you to pick up a new set of wheels. While people who were upset and letting the go-fund-me page know it, they were being shouted down by this woman's supporters. The donators were trying to help a stranger out of the kindness of their heart and are now being accused of only railing against mom because she's black. The family does interviews with the media and puts on an act of grieving and sorrow. Behind the scenes, its what do I get out of this tragedy. Show us your every day dealings. Give us insight into your worlds. Show us the hell you have to go through....every day. I disagree with you completely. I have some very liberal friends and I do business with some far right wing people. I am a retired cop and I spent my life working on the west and south sides. They do not know it and they do not believe it. They do not like the police, or most of them. They think police are racists and brutal and over bearing and just picking on black folks. They blame the police for the high crime rate in black areas because blacks are " over policed" so more likely to be arrested and have a record, then unable to get a job and then commit more crime. They blame the prosecutor for over charging. These people honestly believe that there is no real difference in crime between black areas and white areas if not for the police. You cannot convince them otherwise, so I have just stopped trying These people, some of whom work on the west side, claim they see police brutality every day and see police stop innocent black people and harass them every day. Hard to believe

I was just thinking about the mother, who is white, who stood by while her husband drowned their three kids, She served 5 years in the pen and is now out with three new children and a new husband with a criminal record. The court is thinking about taking them away. But, where do you put all of these children to give them a chance? Have you ever seen some of these foster homes? Just as bad. Bring back orphanages run by the nuns.
Listening to the news this a.m., I hear a report that the baby mama, Karla Lee , was quoted as saying that the money she used to buy her new ride came from the money she had been saving.
If that is so, then why did she need donations to help bury her kid?

I have been contacted many times by the victim's compensation people during my career as a detective. I always had the impression that they hold on to the purse strings very tight. The people that have contacted me were always courteous, concerned, and informed. They have encountered all of the endless scam artist and are aware of the situation. They have helped many needy people as well.

Now anyone in the world can dial up the FOP Lodge website and see what his "thoughts" are. Where’s the actions?
Rahm makes complaints at a news conference about the movie "Chiraq" and it is covered around the world. I'm sure that people in Bagdad would be embarrassed to be associated in any way with Rahm or Chicago. Rahm's actions are a lot louder than Dean's "thoughts" and his call for a boycott by a small segment of the ticket buying population. We never heard what Dean thought about this on the local TV news, The Trib or The Sun-Times. In other cities FOP made a lot of noise and got coverage but not here, if it was any here I missed it. The news media pilfers a lot more stories on SCC than they on the FOP site.
Maybe Dean could speak to the media about this when he leads a large mass march on City Hall during a council meeting about our pensions. I’ll be there for that even if I have to fly in on the red-eye standby.
Here's an idea. I think I figured the plot from the trailer but I'll save that for later. I'll see The Hateful8, when I do I will buy a ticket for another movie and just wonder into that theater.
