"Best Weekend" in Years

We don't think twenty-five people wandering around with extra holes in the body is much to brag about, but it's supposed to be the lowest August opening weekend in the past ten years:

  • Shootings left 23 people wounded and two people dead in Chicago over the weekend, the fewest victims for the same weekend since at least 2015, according to HeyJackass, a site that independently tracks city crime data using open-source and official databases. The victims, 20 men and 5 women, ranged in age from 18 to 65.

Adding to the relatively positive trend, no children were shot and there were no mass shootings, defined as incidents in which four or more people are struck by gunfire.

We thought the fbi definition of a "mass shooting" had to involve at least one death, but the anti-gunners change the definition every chance they get so as to include what are 99% gang shootings anyway.

But crime continues to lag behind previous years, probably because they're running out of targets.
