Uncle Sam. Miami Vice. When it comes to recruiting new Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, the Trump administration is getting creative.
A social-media campaign launched late last month touted immigration enforcement as an opportunity for father-son bonding and to “deport illegals with your absolute boys,” a slang term for close friends. The Department of Homeland Security has invoked world-war-era imagery and touted 1990s Superman actor Dean Cain in an all-out blitz to persuade Americans they should join ICE’s ranks.
The federal government also offered hefty incentives: up to $50,000 in signing bonuses and up to $60,000 in student loan forgiveness. No undergraduate degree is required. DHS also lifted the age cap for law-enforcement roles, opening a deportation officer position specifically for people over 40, and tried to woo back retired law-enforcement officials with a “return to mission” campaign.
“America has been invaded by criminals and predators,” the agency says on its recruiting website. “We need YOU to get them out.”
No idea (yet) if you have to relocate or you can serve your time here, which would be hilarious seeing as how Conehead and Fata$$ have sworn to protect ILLEGAL ALIENS over citizens, but now you'd have Federal credentials. We imagine there will be a minimum time of service to qualify for the entire recruitment bonus.
So far, over 110,000 people have applied nationwide, many retired cops.

I recently retired after 3+ decades and swore I’d never work another day in a LE-related capacity in my life. That said, I’d reconsider that decision and seriously entertain taking this gig if I could stay local and have adequate protections. And if Big Daddy T called me personally to persuade me? Fuck yeah, I’m down with gearing-up and serving my country.
Duty to rid my country of foreign invaders being the primary reason followed by being able to give a big “FUCK YOU” to JB & BJ and all the other DemocRAT sympathizers enabling the destruction of this city and the USA in general the second reason. And if given the green light? I’d personally put either of both of those two assholes in cuffs when their indictments are OK’d.

No thanks. That’s young men’s work. Would gladly serve only if mass civil disturbances/war is taking place. Manage prisoners, guard checkpoints, that sort of thing. Already been discussed where I live.

A federal law enforcement employee most likely would have to go to their training center in Georgia, then you could be assigned anywhere.
It beats working private security.

Be aware, leaves of absence only go to the clouted. Snelling hates rehires. The rehire program has been shut down. For some reason the FOP let the city break the agreement with no repercussions. Strange. So if you leave, don't expect to be able to come back.

Our son was an E 4, 0311and he was recruited by DHS. He was told The wait time for a federal background check was anywhere from 3 to 12 months and he already had a "Secret" clearance! He was also on CFD's list so he got on the fire department instead...
