A challenge! Say something nice

We have been challenged by "leftisthebest" to say something nice about senator dick "turban" durbin. We love a challenge and hearby accept it as worthy of our consideration.

The nice thing about dick durbin is that he might finally teach the left something about their words having consequences. Read this link here from the Sun Times. We, for one, are going to make sure that the FOP gets all the information it needs to support and endorse whomever runs against durbin in 2008. With durbin's approval rating at 50% BEFORE he equated the US military with nazis, gulag guards and pol-pot's genocidal tendencies, the republicans of this state have a golden opportunity to knock off the turban. Especially if the mayor's political machine falls apart, which is looking more likely every day. Turban has no machine to speak of once Daley is gone. Look how fast he caved when the mayor criticized him over his comments. Under 24 hours we believe. If daley goes, so goes the turban.

Moderator, my moderator,
You have let me down. I thought once, just once, you would have (pardon the expression here) a left-handed compliment, even for Sen. Durbin.

The state-wide Democratic machine will push Durbin, with or without Daley. Why should FOP go against Durbin because of his political leanings? They should examine how he backs (or doesn't) the police, and then make a decision.

This is the problem with those on the far right, for them it is my way or the highway. I guess you guys are waiting for Rush to tell you what to do.

Is it the place of our fraternal organization to endorse candidates because they are conservative or liberal? I don't think so.

Wait a minute, all of this is a mute point anyway. Correct me if I am wrong here, but our local FOP no longer takes sample ballots from its members. The PAC committee or some such nonsense makes the choice.

Here's a true story:

Two mayoral elections back I was talking to one of the top guys in our FOP (before a roundtable) and said to him why don't we give a "no confidence vote" against Daley. Know what he said? "We can't do that 'cause it will hurt us at the bargaining table." I told em, fine, then we march on City Hall like we previously did and get the media coverage.

Hey!!! Daley doesn't like the police and we know it. After his comments concerning the 005th District incident we need another march on City Hall. I'll wear my "No Blood for Oil" tee shirt.

You're wrong here. It's moot, not mute.

If this was "blood for oil," why the hell am i paying 2.40 a gallon for gas? Your leftism is showing again, leftism being a synonym for ignorance

The reason, my pal, Bush Boy, is because the ultra rich will charge as much as the consumer will bear. How come your namesake has done nothing to help working people by controlling gasoline prices? You know why, it would cut into his pocketbook.

Thank you Sharky. Price controls do nothing but cripple the economy. The minute a politician of any stripe (or a leftisthebest) advocates price controls, watch for inflation to skyrocket, interest rates to explode and a recession to come rolling down the hill
