Media Distortion?
WGN has a video clip on their website of the 9 o'clock news tonight. The entire story is based on 2 photographs and the story told by an arrestee of a beating at the hands of police in the 016th District. We can't seem to find a way to link directly to the video but a quick summary - domestic with mother, police respond, man gets into verbal altercation with police, man is arrested while resisting. A single photograph on the news shows the arrestee bleeding from a head wound sustained during the fight. The arrestee claims to be bi-polar, is suing the city and police and claims to be scared of the police now.
We wish we could say that it never ceases to amaze that the media can just take 2 photographs and make a story out of whole cloth without so much as an attempt at getting any other side of the story. WGN just describes the photo as four officers on top of the arrestee, but even Stevie Wonder would see that the cops are just standing around the handcuffed subject - no one is on top of anyone. The subject went right to the hospital afterwards, got cleaned up and processed. No violations of orders we could see - and we certainly wouldn't make that assessment based on the two photos we saw. Someone really ought to create some kind of standard rebuttal to crap like this.

well the chicago police department is just one big circus, a real clown festival with all the dumb founded police working in that city.I would buy a ticket to be a that hearing! but it will not happen until the "G" steps in to take over.
