Poll Results
In 24 hours of voting, a little over 600 people cast their ballots and Hiram Grau ran away with it - 242 votes accounting for 37% of the total.
So we guess we can rule out Hiram as the next Superintendent.
Why do anything that might make a segment of the Department happy?
Anyone got any rumors about the Sergeant class?

Karen Rowan for Superintendent..
The officers were notified to report then it was cancelled! Why because some alderthieves with merit on the list lost the election and their merit officers were moved to the bottom of list! Clout pays for the right coppers!
Talked to a coper yesterday told me that he did not need "MERIT" he would be in next class on his own! when will FLOP ever publish who made it on "MERIT"< after all fair is fair! It will never happen as this corrupt city is in bed with donahue and company!
What happened to the "nationwide search" for a new superintendent? I just checked several web sites....IACP etc. and no job posting for top cop in Chicago!!!!
Karen Rowan ? You've got to be kidding, or one of her relatives still on the job who could benefit from nepotism of that pick. HA-HA-HA-HA-HA
Wrong--I saw the Superintendent job listing posted under "Domestic Help Wanted"
No word yet. We were told, "a week or so" after they called us back and cancelled the time and date we were told to report,0745 23apr07.
Karen Rowan will never be superintendent. Her clout is out of favor of the mayor.
I didn't think we we supposed to vote for who we wanted. I thought we were supposed to vote for the incompetent that we thought would get it.

You are wrong. Karen Rowan is back to work for the City at a high-paying job in the Department of Buildings.
Rich Hagen for Supt.
FOP should name the people who made it on their own...they have the names....simple deduction.
DEMAND that the names of those who made it on their score be published! That should be on our next contract!!!
Karen Rowan was supposed to be in Colorado.
She is sooooooooooooo hot!
Metaphysical Certainty:
The next superintendent will be da mare's HO!
WILLIAM JACONETTI, RETIRED CPD SGT, AND NOW POLICE CHEIF OF MELROSE PARK, STAND UP GUY, KILLED A COUPLE ROBBERS AND HAS BALLS. FOR SUPT.
Bill Jaconetti...the foot man.
Granted, he did blast away a couple of bad guys...no college education. Got made Sgt. by Cline, without ever having to jump through the hoops like a lot of others did, by going back to college, even when some of us were putting our kids through college at the same time!
Personally, I'm glad Bill got a decent job after his retirement, but it doesn't say much for the municipality he works for; out of all the cops they have on their force, that they would have to go outside their Dept. and hire a guy who worked a FOOT POST for most of his career, with no formal education, and who was a supervisor (Sgt) for about 17 months before retirement. If that's what they want for a Police Chief, what kind of standards do they have when they hire patrol officers or promote Detectives?
The City made Bill Jaconetti jump through all kinds of hoops to get made Sgt. because he did not meet the education requirements. I believe he had to sue and was grandfathered in. A true Chicago Copper if there ever was one. Good luck to him in his new job, ovr buy dere!
how was jaconetti able to bypass the college requirement to be made sgt.?
Tina Skahill would be an excellent Superintendent...smart, well educated, but doesn't take herself or the job toooo seriously. She would be a refreshing change, and she knows the streets. If we gotta go female, she would be one of the top candidates.
Deb Kirby would be another excellent choice. I know a lot of you posters hate her because of what's going down with the new Behavioral Intervention System, but it isn't her. City lawyers are dictating to our Personnel Division what to do, and it is filtering down to Kirby, who gets her marching orders from the fifth floor, as does everyone else employed in this highly political city we live in.
