Ramsey Out
- Former Washington, D.C., Police Chief Charles Ramsey decided Tuesday not to enter the heated competition to replace retiring Chicago Police Supt. Phil Cline, but the Police Board declined to say who did apply.
Ramsey became the second high-profile outsider to opt out of the competition as the Police Board closed off applications.
And someone posted in an earlier thread that Cline is gone 12 July. The rumor mill ought to be heating up nicely now.

The chief was transporting a prisoner for driving under the influence of alcohol. The prisoner was able to produce a gun and shot the chief in the back of the head.
The prisoner was taken into custody following the shooting.
Chief Lacy had served as a law enforcement officer for 23 years, and had served as the Chief of Police in Clay City for three years.

Yes a tragedy indeed, the prisoner had been cuffed in the front because the sheriff knew him. Guys and gals, please make sure you cuff everyone behind the back and double lock, no deviating from this practice for any reason!

We're the only ones that work an eight hour day, we get disproportionally screwed by inspectors, no one ever holds a slip for us, 30 minute lunches ( not the hour plus everyone else gets); oh hell, I could go on and on. If the next Super wants to make a difference try treating patrol not special, simply like everyone else.

Chicago police this afternoon fatally shot a man who charged at them with a lead pipe and a meat cleaver in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
A woman called 911 after seeing the unidentified man, believed to be in his late 20s, pouring lighter fluid on himself in an alley on the 4500 block of South Wood Street at about 4:45 p.m.
The officers sprayed the man with a disabling chemical substance. The man lunged at the officers with the items, before they both shot him, Shields said.
Hubermann will be the next super. He stated his qualifications for the running the cta was that he rode the el for two weeks (per Sun-Times). I think thats how long he was a cop for.

So then it is okay to steel? Who really fucking cares? These guys have ruined our job, with an assist from Abate. If that 450,000 dollars was drug money, all the more reason to not steal it. It is covered in blood, some of it belonging to our brother officers.

Patrol does get screwed I agree, but screw them back. We have to stop taking all the abuse, and start giving it back.
Can you imagine the little prick mayors blood pressure if we started informational picketing when our contract is up, and not settled.
If this picketing was done when the Olympic Comittee was in town. I am not talking about a job action, i am talking about informational picketing as to the mistreatment of the officers on this department. the lack of good mid level management to start with. The Olympic comittee would drop Chicago like a hot potato.

That Police Chief in Kentucky used poor tactics, and it caught up with him. If he knew you, he would cuff you in the front, not the back. It was allegedly also common knowledge that he kept an extra gun between the front seats of his squad. It appears at this time that this friend he arrested got to the spare gun. I guess Chief Lacy thought he was the Police Chief of Mayberry, until this friend of his he arrested showed him otherwise. Sad, and totally avoidable.

Also to add make sure car has fuel -1 hour carwash -1 hour station "on reports" -1 1/2 hours tires need air -1 hour "emergency personal -1/2 hour X 2= - 1 hour get the picture all legit but will work! That is why my car is always full and washed and repired and I check reports in station where it is hopefully cool! If your sick it is not bad to go tomedical make sure your 100% before you return to work that is the contract correct?

Second, feel free to try to drop a slip for that lunch, because when you mess with your Sgt, I will see that you were not on an assignment during your assigned lunch period and deny your slip. I will further make it my business to ensure that you aren't lying down on a job during that period.
Third, hold your paper til the end of the tour and you will be sitting in the Sgts office at checkoff until the 1/2hr. By the way, I don't have to sign them today. I can leave them til tomorrow if I want. Plus, I am happy to stay late to make a point to a lazy prick who only cares about himself by being a dog and laying down on jobs!!!

No one issued you morale. No one said you had to buy it with your own money. It was not listed as a benefit of employment when you came on the job. Do your job and never mind feeling. Karen Rowan won't be superintendent. Her clout is Oscar DeAngelo, who is a long time Taylor Street real estate developer. DeAngelo and Daley once were tight, but now DeAngelo has fallen out of favor with the mayor. There are also other questions that could stop Karen Rowan.
The best we can hope for is Grau.

First of all what was your number on the list? I am quite sure I know more about being the police in my sock then you do in your whole body.
You want to get the number go right ahead,I am sure I can justify any action I have taken on the street while you are "protecting me."
