In an especially violent weekend, no less than 31 people have been shot in Chicago -- six fatally -- and two people have been stabbed since noon Friday. The shooting victims range in age from 12 to 65.
On Friday, 15 people were shot -- four fatally -- between noon Friday and midnight Saturday, police said.
- The shootings came as police announced that murders and shootings in Chicago had declined slightly this year compared with the same period last year.
Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis scheduled a Sunday 3 p.m. news conference to discuss the shooting statistics and the weekend violence that left six dead and several others injured.
