Explain Please
What is this about?
- Just a little something I observed last night after the fireworks down by the Taste. During the craziness going on in the Loop afterwards, I saw Weis there with 2 males dressed in civilian clothes acting as his bodyguards. Is this a new spot, Supt bodyguard detail? The 2 appeared to be weightlifters, is that the requirement for the spot? I watched a fellow officer in full uniform approach Weis, at which time one of the guys put their hands on the officer and pushed him away. Couldn't tell what was being said but the uniform officer was none too happy. I think he was explaining that he wanted to say something to Weis but the bodyguard wasn't having it. I know it probably wasn't the time to talk to him, but I couldn't believe the way the bodyguard was treating that uniformed officer. Unbelievable!!!!
Someone explain to us peons please. Are these Officers? Feds? Marshals?

Yes they are police officers assigned to the Superintendent's Office. Stark's left overs. The officer protecting the Supt over reacting to the situation and they are embarrassing the Superintendent further in front of the the entire rank n file and the City of Chicago.
If there was an unprovoked physical contract a simple battery case report could be prepared or I suggest getting a C.R. number, please identify all witnesses and collect the video tapes taking at the scene IPRA will investigate it.
The CPD is now gone from out of control to bizzaro...
I dont know if the the Marshals were instructed to stay at the command post but while we were 50-100 feet away trying to break up a fight, they did not move an inch to help us. At least security, the yellow shirts, were helping out.

I saw J-fed at the immigration march months back with two "guys" walking around him and then they got in two different cars one guy driving Weis and the other driving a lead unmarked. So dont come on here and tell us they were introducing him to rank and file members, do you think we are dumb?? We are trained observers. Maybe you are one of them??? His special drivers.
Lets set the record straight right now. The supe is the baddest "mofo" in town and doesn't need any bodyguards. These two gentlemen happened to be at a bar in 023 where the supe had a meeting with CTA chairman Ron Huberman. They expressed interest in the supe's workout routine and he offered to take them to the gym and show them how to target specific muscle groups. Normally, he would have taken them to the gym at 35th& Michigan, but since his wife was out of town, he had to get home and water the cats. They were in route to his residence when all this shit broke out at the "Waste of Chicago" and they had to detour there. See, it's a perfectly reasonable explanantion. The reason he is doing such a shitty job is that he appointed a group of exempts who are too afraid or too stupid to point out when he is doing something wrong. He then ensures he is always surrounded on the street by people who will keep real police officers away from him. At headquarters he has created an office: 1sgt and 2po 4-year wonders called "policy group" whose sole function is to listen to anything that anyone has to say to him and filter out criticism. No bad news reached Weis, because yes-men don't give bad news. The Department is getting consistently worse, and so long as Weis' ego is unchecked and a group of cowards surround him-the trend will continue.

You can tell the ex-military police from the police with no military background pretty quickly with regards to this incident. Any old soldier would see exactly what is wrong with trying to just expect a polite friendly chat with the general of your division with no appointment - let alone no introduction - UNLESS THE GENERAL APPROACHED THE SOLDIER FIRST, which in this case doesn't sound like that happened. Too many police forget all about chain of command, proper channels, and understanding their rank.

A uniformed officer tried to stop one of his drivers while they were walking and the driver identified himself as the police. This happened more than once while they were walking with the Supt. Never did they stop anyone trying to talk to the Supt. As a matter of fact they introduced us to the Supt. while we were in the Taste and he made small talk with us. Both drivers that day are good guys who I would work with anytime. So stop stirring ther pot.

In response to the US Marshals Service presence at the taste. We were asked by the OEMC to assist at the command post and only at the command post. I wish we were able to assist with more deputies and help with rolling security. We are always willing to support CPD and any mission asked of us. We also were NOT there as any kind of security or protection for the Superintendent. Ask any member of the fugitive unit if we are afraid to get our hands dirty. The USMS is not the enemy. I come from a family of CPD, my father, two uncles and cousins.

This is all bullshit. I was in full uniform talking to the tact lt from 23 and 21 when we saw the Superintendent. He walked up to us shook all of our hands and asked how everything was going. It is a shame what you post on this blog SCC. Morale is shity because of this blog not Supt.
A boss told me about this site a few months ago - and since then I've been hooked. But not in a good way...I cant believe the way we act on this site for the world to see. Regardless of whatever personality conflicts exist, there are far too many common problems to be solved for anyone to allow the daley style 'divide-and-conquer bullshit to distract from the focussed efforts needed to truly be a union, ( a fraternal order, if you insist), whose membership deserves, by the evidence of their collective unity of purpose, to be called a union.
Whatever differences exist between individuals, and however one feels the need to express those differences, the many common goals shared should, and must, take precedence, if any significant improvements are to be achieved.
Call a spade a spade, if you must, but remember, 'divide-and-conquer' has been successful in bringing about all the garbage piling up 'daley', and unity is the only thing that can clean up the mess created by those who profit from same.

In response to the US Marshals Service presence at the taste. We were asked by the OEMC to assist at the command post and only at the command post. I wish we were able to assist with more deputies and help with rolling security. We are always willing to support CPD and any mission asked of us. We also were NOT there as any kind of security or protection for the Superintendent. Ask any member of the fugitive unit if we are afraid to get our hands dirty. The USMS is not the enemy. I come from a family of CPD, my father, two uncles and cousins.

While some of what you say rings true, other things within your comment sound more like you're trying to instigate actions in clear violation of the expired, but still enforcible, labor agreement.
Exactly what one would expect from the mayor's crew of dirty trick specialists.

Hey fuck-stick, it disgusts us that he wears OUR uniform! The uniform in which WE have been in when WE rode to shots fired calls, Man W/a gun, domestics, Batt in progress, and a million others. We EARNED the right to wear that uniform! The very uniform that our brothers and sisters wore when they were injured or killed. To us, that means something. To you that shirt may be just a piece of cloth, to US, it means the diffrence between right and wrong, good and bad.
For "Captain Clueless" (A.K.A. J-fed) to wear it is a slap in the face to the thousands of Police that have ever been on the job. There are multiple ways to dress, and I usually dont have a problem with any of them, IF IT IS ACCEPTABLE! T-shirt and jeans, just fine for a bar-b-que in the back yard. Showing up in an "official capacity" as an alledged "boss" or "leader" to an event in said atire, I would have to say; go fucking change! Now, before you lable me the "FASHON POLICE", think about it for a minute. How would you like it if your boss, well, maby not yours, because Pimps usualy dress a little better than most. How much respect would you have if your precious little Obama showed up in his "plain white Tee", baggie jeans halfway around his ass, and boxers hanging out? What are you talking about? What does stuffed and cuffed mean? I have never seen somebody who approached an officer to ask a question get "stuffed and cuffed" as you say. Now if you're being ignorant and loud, then yes you may get "stuffed and cuffed." That is if it means what I think it means. I know you philosopher types get fruity sometimes.
