The Violence Continues Unabated
- Three males were shot and wounded Thursday in the Chatham neighborhood on Chicago's South Side.
The victims, ages 16, 17, and 21, were on 79th Street near Eberhart Avenue when a gunman opened fire about 5 p.m., said Police Officer JoAnn Taylor.
Paramedics arrived and found three males in separate locations within a block of one another with bullet wounds in the lower extremities, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said.
This in addition to another one in Ashburn, Garfield Park and at least one other we can't find any links to. And it only hit 70 degrees today.

cpd spokesperson m. bonds has reported to the media that the multiple shootings have 'skewed' the statistics, perhaps the shooters should be instructed by the media to shoot only one (1) person at a time cause it's fucking up the statistics.

Two people were shot, one in the head in the Loop late Thursday as thousands of people streamed out of downtown after the city's Fourth of July fireworks display and the Taste of the Chicago.
Both shootings occurred about 10:40 p.m. roughly a block apart, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said.
A male victim was shot in the head near Dearborn and Van Buren Streets, Langford said. That victim was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The second victim, also male, was shot near Clark and Van Buren Streets, Langford said. Paramedics treated him on the scene and, subsequently, he too was transported to Northwestern. His condition was not immediately known but he appeared to be conscious when paramedics were treating him, Langford said.
Police had one person in custody and recovered a weapon Thursday night in connection with the shootings, said Officer Amanda Greer. The shootings appeared to be gang-related, she added.

Two people were shot, one of them fatally, as they sat in a parked vehicle on Chicago's South Side late Thursday.
The two were parked in the 6700 block of South State Street when a dark-colored Pontiac Grand Prix pulled up at about 10:50 p.m. and shots were fired into their vehicle, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman. Both people were shot in the head,
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other, who was shot in the back of the head, was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
Greer said early Friday that she did not yet know the ages or genders of the victims

It's a good idea, but for the typical shithead you'd probably have to first explain what a pace is prior to the duel, then you'd have to find two of them that can accurately count to ten. I predict a lot of miscounts, misfires, and dead innocent bystanders.....you know, just like they do it now.

I think that's a great idea, however, the shitbirds would still miss and shoot some kid on the couch watching cartoons. How about 4 paces instead?
This south loop area is getting bad even during the week day. Drunks on corners yelling shit at people at noon, constant and aggressive panhandlers, shitheads causing trouble on the el's. I didn't think they even woke up until after 3 pm.

i stopped by 95 and state at the dunking donuts to get some coffee inside the el station it was a wahoo fest there. all those animals going to the taste/fireworks. felt sorry for the two mass trans coppers standing out there..way out numbered.
I noticed on the news clip concerning the Taste shooting that Deputy Byrne spoke to the press while Moe-Neek just walked around with her arms folded.

I have never seen such a violent year as this one. Less manpower, the tying of our hands to do our job, the Mator and the Revernds have caused this. Lately the Trib has been disabling the comment portion on most of the stories involving local violence. I don't think they have the manpower to ensure that obscenities don't get in, so they save themselves the trouble.
