Dogs Kill Man

  • Police are investigating the death of a 56-year-old man whose daughter came home Sunday night to find him covered in blood and apparently killed by the pit bulls she was raising, police sources said.

Johnny Wilson was found in the living room of his home in the 10200 block of South Aberdeen with numerous bite marks on his body, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Other sources said he suffered massive head, chest and upper body trauma.

This is the second or third person killed by dogs in the past few years around these parts. Remember that woman jogging in the south side Forest Preserve not that long ago? They had cops with shotguns hunting those animals for weeks afterward.

Anyone want to guess how many comments in the major papers revisited the police officer killing the 125 pound stray dog on the north side? We saw just one in the Sun Times version. Too bad the copper wasn't around to rescue this guy.

Was onscene and he was found in the bedroom not living room. Walls covered in blood from trying to fight them off. Mom ran out for a moment and kids were home during the whole attack though its not clear where they were. When police arrive with rifles and shotguns, Daughter is concerned about the dogs and doesn't want them shot. Animal control comes out in force and record time and does an outstanding job removing the dogs.
Gotta say SCC, it was one of the worst scenes I've been on.

That's whatcha get when you bring stray, beaten-on, tortured, abused, malnourished, undisciplined ghetto dogs (that were likely fought on top of it) into your house because you're a bleeding-heart liberal that cares more about an animal than a human.

News flash to all the goofs "rescuing" stray canines in the ghettos: you're a Goddamned fool to bring these unpredictable predators into your home because you couldn't fathom seeing it get squashed by a truck. It's only a matter of time before a dog like this snaps on you, YOUR CHILD, friend, neighbor or family member because of approaching it in what the dog interprets as a menacing manner.

Do yourself, and the fleabag, a big favor and let nature run it's course...even if this "nature" is interrupted by some ghetto dweller fighting it to the death or setting it on fire as a gang initiation.

Sure, it's a nice, warm, fuzzy feeling when you see that underneath your hardened cop shell lies a compassionate being, "in tune with" God and his animal creations. Just don't lose sight that IT'S A FUCKIN' ANIMAL THAT CAN'T REASON AND RELIES ON INSTINCT TO SURVIVE.

Dogs can kill or seriously maim a human being. Especially if the dogs are mistreated. Dogs are not forgiving if pushed to a certain point. The drug dealers these days have bred vicious dogs. Ask the south side gun teams. The gun teams have shot their share of dogs and more on search warrants with us beat cops witnessing the way these drug dealers implement their handiwork. Drug dealers think they can do their dirty work with the use of dogs who are beaten with sticks, starved and forced to run on treadmills. And then when a police officer shoots the vicious animals, it seems there is that Aunt Mabel cry of " Oh my. Did he have to do that? " And once again, the police officer is second guessed and sued. The real story though is that the dog is a pawn in the drug game. Sad, but true.

According to one paper, it was pretty gruesome. Ripped off both his ears and tore an eye out.

Bet her walking in on that scene ruined her high.

The shitheads that live at the end of my block have two of these killer dogs, both of them obtained from some kind of Pit Bull "rescue" organization. These goddamn dogs will snarl and bark at anyone they see when either of the dipshit (man & wife)owners are walking them in the neighborhood. The guy is strong enough to hold them back but the woman can barely manage.

Just the other night I was walking my dog right by my own house. Guy comes around the corner with those two monsters on leashes...right away the snarling, pulling, trying to get at my dog and rip her to shreds. One of these evenings they'll get loose and I'll have to pump all 3 of them full of 9mm lead.

Walking around a neighborhood with no owner/handler around and no tags or registration on it? Just curious, what's your definition of a stray? And no it wasn't a pitbull but anybody who's ever called for the pooches can verify the damage a german shepard can do.

Call Cesar Millan and have him give a ginormous in-service here in the Chicago-land area. According to the Dog Whisperer, all dogs live in the moment. Whether you believe this or not, he hits the nail on the head. The owner has to be a pack leader and you need the dog needs to be calm and submissive. I don't think most dog owners get this concept.

to 9:17am.........you're gonna need more than 9mm to put those kind of dogs down.

Get a pistol with a .4 in the caliber, train with it and carry it off duty and at work on the street.

Glock makes a nice, very compact .45acp (Glock 36)to compliment it's larger .45.

Forget 9mm to work the street, train with, qualify and carry the largest caliber you can handle, Your life may depend on putting someone down with a round with some punch to it.

Was at the scene as well, and it was gruesome no ears exposed skull and bones....the dogs were crazed in the rear yard and as posted earlier animal control did a great job wrangling the dogs. These guys were the best of the best (to my amazement!!)

Yes you will need more than a 9mm. I hit one of these driving at about 50mph. He survived until the LEO showed up and realized he had no tags. His .40 in the chest didn't phase him so another to the head and about 3 minutes time lap then he was out.

Makes no difference, a dog is a dog, not a person. It's just a domesticated animal that is given a name by it's owner. Being a lifetime owner of dogs, I have seen them cower from a loud noise and go ape shit it towards another person for no reason. If i were being charged by a dog, I'd likley shoot it too. I am not going to stand there and just see what happens.

To 9:40 am
Most cops are not gun people, its a tool they lug around to earn a check with. They are not going to head to the gunshop and buy a gun with a caliber that starts with a 4 in it. Not to mention the $$$ they will shell out for a new level 3 holster/magazine case that the Dept. is going to make them buy to lug around that new pistol with a caliber that starts with 4 in it. And lets not forget the off-duty pancake holster that they will need for the new gun with a caliber that starts with 4 in it.
Then they have to qualify, another HUGE pain in the ass that has to be scheduled, maybe on a day off that they dont want to think about pistols or the Dept. The best advice would be for the copper to upgrade the ammo for the pistols he or she already has.(+p or +P+) When the cougar was shot in that yuppy area a couple of years back , the 7-8 hits from existing pistols did the trick.

Hit your target in the vitals and it will go down regardless of caliber size. 9mm has enough penetration to get into the chest cavity and leave a big wound channel..that's good enough. .45 is great if you have the strength to handle it and get it back on target after it kicks up. Plus .45 is expensive to train with. You'd be better off going with .357SIG.

Officer why do you carry a .45?

Because they don't make a .46.

Well, Guncrafters makes a .50 caliber easy switch conversion kit for the Glock 21. It's "affordable" and if you can land only one well aimed shot versus spraying lead this would be idea at close range.

Check it out on Policemag.com ( a great website ) under Weapons.

Stay safe. Screw the 9mm Para Bellum, "for war" are you kidding me?

To 4:53pm and 3:02pm.

The official CPD 9mm round isn't shit. You don't have knockdown power and it doesn't do much on penetration, especially in the winter when people wear heavy clothing or on very large, muscular people. The .45 was developed for that reason--fighting the Moro Tribesmen in the Phillipines.

If you can't handle a .45 or a .40 because of your size, that's one thing. But don't bitch about cost and the pain in the ass of qualifying to justify your not wanting to make the change. You get a lot of money (uniform checks) every year from the City just for things like this. I qualify with my auxilary weapons every year on duty and sometimes when I do my yearly qual.

I've seen our 9mm be ineffective both on animals and humans.

One or two rounds from a .45 or .40would have put down that cougar in 019 instead of the 7-9 like you crowed about.

Tell John Knight's partner who had two chest hits and one face hit on Knight's killer. Those 9mm rounds were ineffectual, he walked into a bond hearing two days later.

You mustn't be a CPD officer, 4:53pm, as you would know that .357 Sig isn't an option for us.

Big bullets stop people and animals. I'll take my fair advantage.

Every Dog Bite Incident I every handle, where I could locate a owner, the owner said the same thing.
"I can't believe my dog did that, it never acted that way around me."
Truth is Pit Bulls are very violent beast. They should not be allowed to be license here in the city.
They are used by drug dealers to protect their homes etc.
PS: Have a nice day ????

Inclined to agree with you but there is an exception regarding
.36 caliber projectiles...

.357 Magnum and not the mass produced "we don't want to hurt your alloy revolver or offend slight statured shooters" loadings.

Original 1935 FBI spec ammunition (it's out there, gotta look) 158gr. hollow point(the company uses speer 158gr. gold dot for this particular app.) 1550fps & over 850 ft. lbs muzzle energy.

Broadside shoulder shots are nothing short of spectacular with the Ruger GP-100.

The .45 acp +p loadings are winners too.

Seen too many mutts (two and four legs) run off even after good hits with 9mm (nominally .355/.356 caliber) and .38 special.

9mm was not intially designed to be particularly lethal but to wound enemy combatants and tie up two or more enemy soldiers to remove their comrade from the battle field. WW1 Euro-think.
