That Time of Year
- Drivers be warned: the city’s winter overnight parking ban begins Dec. 1.
The seasonal ban will be in effect from December 1st through April 1 from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. and imposes parking restrictions for about 107 miles of streets and is enforced whether it snows or not, according to a release from the city’s Streets and Sanitation department.
Violating the winter overnight parking ban can result in a $150 minimum towing fee, a $50 ticket and a daily storage fee of $10 that increases over time, according to the release.
Just a friendly reminder to all our readers. There will be plenty of Streets and San people out there ticketing and towing. They usually snag between 80 and 110 cars. We'll set the over/under at 90 this year seeing as how the City is warning everyone early for some reason.

Another friendly reminder, our pension is in ruins and everyone is out to put you in jail. Remember to go out and get those parkers!

Does anyone know whose the dr at the med sec? Was told I have to give her written consent for her to request my med files. apparently she tried through my dr and was told without my consent she wasn't getting anything.
"There will be plenty of Streets and San people out there ticketing and towing."
True.
But will they be disproportionately writing tickets and towing vehicles in places like the west end of 008 and the various enclaves of 016? You know the places: the few remaining strongholds which are inhabited primarily by CPD, CFD and other gainfully employed city workers and legitimate taxpayers?
Or will these Roustabouts of Revenue target those who blatantly and perpetually thumb their collective nose at the system by refusing to adhere to this most basic of laws? Let's not even mention the failure to purchase the required City sticker and vehicle registration.
I think we all know the answer to this question...
...and there will always be the news interview where some yuppie slob says, "But it wasn't snowing, it's all about the revenue!"
Yup, follow da' money.
I only park in the burbs. Catch me baaitch

It is called HIPPA...and the city doesn't get to see any of your medical records unless you give them permission.

Just another way to rip-off the taxpayers "daley criminal style"!
How are these streets designated? I live on NW Hwy and there's a Snow Route sign but that's about it.

The City asked for my medical files, several times. They got them, many hundreds of pages. My CPD medical file is now at least 6 folders jam packed full of papers. Stacked they would make a pile at least a foot thick. No one reads the things, that would take hours. All that accomplished was to make my doctor(s) spend money paying their employees to copy page after page after page.
Now when the medical section asks about something I tell them they already have it, read their file. Then they get a look at the pile. I could have the countries' nuclear secrets in there, no one will ever read that far.

You are not required to do so. They cannot get them as it is a HIPA Law violation.
