Canadian Fun

It's not all muskie fishing and moose hunting. They have crime there, too:
  • A man is in critical condition in hospital after injuring himself with his own knife when he tripped and fell after allegedly robbing a store in Ottawa's south end Monday, police said.

Police said they were notified about the robbery on Tapiola Crescent at 9:13 a.m. They got a second call about what was called a stabbing short time later.

Paramedics found the injured man all the way over at Southgate Road near Bank Street, about 1.5 km away.

1.5 kilometers after gutting himself with his own knife. What's that in city blocks?

1.5 kilometers = 0.93 miles or about a half block short of one mile.

1.6km = 1 mile

So if he stabbed himself at 71st, you found him at 78th Pl., eh.

There was one up in Canada just very recently where a shithead came in to rob a store... Behind him was a dude in a wheelchair. Robber basically ignores wheelchair guy, figuring he's no threat. Wheelchair guy locks on to robber and muscles him down to the deck. Great to see, A++ to the wheelchair guy. Its on youtube.

Also kind of a reminder for LE to never underestimate anyone- too short, too skinny, too fat, in a wheelchair or whatever. Any grown man can turn into a real handful if the adrenaline starts flowing.

What's the story on that little boy who died of a gunshot to the head, that it's a death investigation???? What do they think, that the bullet got into his head by natural causes?

What's that in city blocks, you ask?

1.5 kilometers is the distance covered by a discarded Cheetos bag blown in 5mph wind on the City's South Side

15.9 city blocks (US city block approx 311 feet, not counting streets in between)
93% of a mile

It's a shade over 7 full blocks. From Pulaski (4000 West) to Kilpatrick (4700 West). That's a bit of a hike. Crumbs like this always have plenty of energy and blood to try to escape. They just refuse to die.

1.5 km? That's about a mile. So you know how many blocks that is.

Use the fahrenheit to celcius formula...

Double it and add 30 or divide it in half and subtract 30.

if it happened here im sure the offender would be looking to sue the city because of the dangerous roads that caused him to trip.

This story about a guy being cut with is own knife and making it almost a mile away makes about as much sense as the story of the arrestee the "fell down the stairs".
