Miami Favored by Two

We're not going to be bandwagon jumpers. We've had our doubts about the Bears all year and nothing we've seen this year shakes that assertion yet.

But we've heard the Predictive Analysis Unit is disagreeing with the experts on this one and is betting the farm on the Bears.

They've got to be correct at some point, right?

Bears!

O.T.

A/2 is staying on the 10 hour day. The city never notified the union they wanted to change the shift.

The reason FOP went to arbitration on the other shifts was because that was the agreement. If the city moved to change the shifts they had to notify prior to 01 July 10. They notified in April. It could not be resolved and went to arbitration per the agreement, and we lost.

All the agreements are in your contract and available for all to read on the FOP web site, when it is working.

I also agree that it seems we are losing one arbitration after another. Since this is the most corrupt place in the U.S. it always a very good possibility the fix is in. That is the way it always has been and always will be here. That is why you do not have one viable canidate for mayor. Meet the old boss same as the new boss. Corruption and self intrest are king here and no legitimate person or union stands a chance.Rage against the machine!!!

The Predictive Analysis Group predicted there would be an increase of retail thefts during the months of November and December.

No shit! Amazing that this unit even exists.

Look, no one will mistake this Bears team for a Super Bowl threat, BUT, so far they are winning more often than losing, and I don't care WHO they've beaten.

Miami is down to their THIRD STRING QB... How good could he be?

I'm thinking da Bears pull this out by a couple points or 14... who knows!?!

Home Field No Advantage For Dolphins

The Dolphins are only 1-3 at Sun Life Stadium this season, while the Bears are 3-1 on the road.

In those three home losses this season, the Dolphins have allowed 95 points. In those three road wins, the Bears defense has allowed an average of less than 10 points per game.

To be sure, not having to travel helps a team, especially in a short week. But don't fool yourself into thinking that being at home is a tonic for what ails the Fish.

You know how they say a broken clock still tells the correct time at least twice a day?

Same with the Bears. I'm not budging from my 8-8 prediction.

They haven't even faced the meat of the schedule yet, although considering the mediocrity of the league overall, I wouldn't be totally surprised if they exceeded my expectations and ran the table the rest of the way.

Just like 2006. And if that happens, expect Lovie to be locked into the head coaching position until the next presidential election cycle.

That's the 2016 election cycle, not this one.

off topic

http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/2894920,park-ridge-cop-brutality-charges-111510.article

Please remember, Not everything we read or hear in the news is the truth.

We have it hard enough out there doing our jobs, protecting communities, taking scum off the streets, so that others could live without fear. This Officer was doing his job.

In Oct 2006, the offender and another teenager were shooting out car windows when they shot out the car window of an off duty Park Ridge Police Officer's vehicle with a projectile. The off duty Police Officer and responding units chased the two offenders, when one of the offender's decided to run and resist arrest. The offender was charged with two counts of felony criminal damage to property, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of resisting a peace officer. The offender received minor bruising and scraping to his face as a result of his actions, and resisting arrest. The offender never requested medical attention nor went to the hospital immediately following this incident. The offender admitted to this incident in court and paid restitution to the vehicle owners, including the off duty Officer.

An internal investigation was attempted, in which the offender and his family, after numerous attempts, refused to cooperate with.

In Oct 2007, 1 YEAR, after this incident, the offender and his family file a law suit against the City of Park Ridge and the officers involved. The State's Attorney's office is now mysteriously interested in this case and decides to open an investigation, 1 year later. --AN OFFENDER, SHOOTING AT CAR WINDOWS, COMMITTING A CRIME, AND MINOR INJURY TO THE OFFENDER AS A RESULT OF HIM RESISTING ARREST.

In Jan 2010 The Park Ridge Police Dept and the City of Park Ridge settle a lawsuit with the offender, a tactic commonly used to avoid the numerous costs of going to trial.

OCT 2010, 4 YEARS AFTER THIS INCIDENT, LT. JASON LEAVITT IS INDICTED FOR AGGRAVATED BATTERY AND OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT.

On Monday, Oct 15th, 2010, Jason Leavitt had to go and turn himself in at 26th and California to be arraigned in front of a judge. To face the possibility of losing his job, his income to support his family, and now have to come up with a minimum of $30,000 to start, to defend the lawful action that he took, chasing an offender committing numerous felonies, not knowing if the offender is armed, in the course of his duties.

All the times we have gone to court, walking through those hallways, riding up the elevators with the filth that we arrest.

I could not fathom how embarrassing and humiliating this must be to Jason Leavitt.

I am embarrassed and disgusted to work in a climate where the State's Attorney's office chooses to spend it's time prosecuting a Decorated Police Officer over criminals, a Police Officer who has dedicated his life and has put his life on the line for law enforcement and the community.

I've seen some ridiculous moves by the State's Attorney's office, but this incident, along with a few others, makes me want to re-evaluate how aggressive of a Police Officer I want to be in the future.

I am good friends with many State's Attorneys, I am not lumping them all together, some of them are good at their jobs, some not, same with Police Officers. We all know that there are dirty Police Officers out there, and I am in NO WAY sticking up for or defending them when I ask for your support for the injustice that is taking place here, with this incident.

ummm... a juvenile arrestee does not have to request medical attention...the responsibility is on the arresting officer. There is your lawsuit. Sorry, but Park Ridge should have sent this kid to the hospital to document the fact that the wounds were superficial. These punks deserved whatever they got, but PRPD dropped the ball. Certainly because they are the 019 district when it comes to police work. But had they done it the right way, this would be a non issue. Now the asshole media is reporting the kid was "knocked unconscious only to wake up to find the officer kicking him in the face" WHATEVER! Its bullshit...but without a doc saying "no, he never lost consciousness, his CAT scan was normal, his wounds superficial and consistent with running and scaling a fence etc etc" the scum media gets an open invitation to blast us. This city sucks.

bears win

OT: Miguel DelValle on WGN news says, there is a Morale problem on CPD and there is a problem with the direction the police Department is going. He will take a real hard look at the Supt. once his contract is up. (Read, he's gone!) He's got my vote.

OT - Kelsey Grammer is plotting a return to TV.

Starz has given an eight-episode order to “Boss,” which will star Grammer as the powerful mayor of Chicago.

Great call, Goldfarb! How'd ya do it? You have yet to predict locations of future murders and other violent crimes. Any fool can make general non-specific locations in 007 and 011. Stick to football.

CORRECTION: Oops! You scam phony. I just noticed the time stamp on your Bears-Dolphins prediction. Any doofus can "predict" the 16-0 score after the game is over.

'fess up, you big fraud!

Sadly the post is correct about juveniles and medical attention... It is on the officer to get doctors clearance for something as little as a scratch.
I was sent to work at the clusterfuck known as the JISC in A1 as punishment a few years ago and HATED explaining to POs they need to go babysit the honor student because of visible injuries. They all thought I didn't want to do my job but they were wrong. I would explain this was to cover their ass down the line and some understood while others walked out mumbling about me being a prick.
They also could not understand we only had four of us processing their kids and they wanted us to take them to the hospital. Obviously the problem there is we get three or four kids with injuries who does the processing?
Yet in typical fashion we get idiots who know it all posting "ummm... go fuck yourself" as the post at 12:31 AM has showing just how intelligent he really is. The sad truth of the matter is this incident could have been prevented if the officers took the kid for a medical clearance. Maybe Park Ridge doesn't/didn't have such a policy and if not then shame on their department for hanging one of their own out.

A former prisoner of the JISC 3rd watch.

Gery Chico said in an interview last Sunday in the scumtimes that when j-fleds contract is up he is gone and will promote from within the department.

Plus he has a cousin on the job with over 20 yrs who is still a patrolman. In other words if he was the mayors Chief of Staff & didn't get a relative a merit Ppromotion maybe we can get him to do away with them.

HE WILL GET MY VOTE.
