Stay Classy Big Hog Nuts
Your boy lost Billy. In fact, he lost in the primary, remember?
- The Cook County Board commissioner most loyal to outgoing board President Todd Stroger today took a shot at Toni Preckwinkle, who will replace Stroger next month, in the ongoing war of words over the transition between leaders.
“Listen, shut up and get over here and try to do some work — that’s what she needs to do,” said Commissioner William Beavers, D-Chicago, during a discussion of the transition at today’s regular board meeting. Preckwinkle was not there.
Seeing as how Cook County government serves just about no purpose aside from giving ignorant and illiterate payrollers like Beavers inflated salaries they'd never see in the real world, voters could do worse than dissolve this outdated, redundant and useless branch of government.

Beavers has to be an alien being,a mere mortal would have died of lung cancer years ago.

Just look at BHN's and Urkel's constituancies and you'll be able to make an argument for literacy tests for voting rights.
our politicians are such an embarrassment
LEAVE IT TO BEAVERS.
Beavers is succesful in keeping the stereotype alive. Loud, proud, and ignorant. Had a few contacts with Preckwinkle and she seemed fair, and reasonably intelligent.I don't have enough info to make a judgement of her but she will probably make the Beav look like a fool. Of course anyone could.
Sandy Jackson beat the pants off big hog heads daughter last election , Sandy shpuld dump jj jr and run for mayor
SCC,

chicago ain’t ready for reform paddy bauler
The late 43rd Ward Alderman, Mathias “Paddy” Bauler, once famously remarked that “Chicago Ain’t Ready For Reform.” This beer guzzling, pig belly of an alderman had it right all those years ago. The sad thing about that remark is that it isn’t just Chicago, it is the State of Illinois that Ain’t Ready For Reform. The reason for this, of course, is that the entire political power base, and structure, comes from Chicago. The Chicago Way, or Machine Politics is now so deeply ingrained in our fabric that it is looked upon as normal. To accept that notion, though, isn’t normal at all.
Paddy Bauler’s remark lets all of us Average Joe’s and Josephine’s know that we will never catch an even break when it comes to Illinois Politics. The only way we could ever share in the spoils is if we are morally corrupt ourselves and decide to join the gang. What is that saying? “If you can’t beat em, join em?” Maybe I am getting more naive as I age, but I really don’t believe that most people are cut from that dirty cloth. I have always had a profound faith in my fellow man to do the right thing. Yes, I know, there are people out there that would rather take the easy way out. A hand out instead of a hand up, but do they outnumber the people that would rather succeed the old fashioned way?

Several times over the last few decades, suburbs in the Northwest quadrant of Cook County have explored the option of breaking away and forming their own county.
IMO, it would just be trading one bad form of government for another.
And why are Townships still in existence? There was a time they served a useful purpose, but they just seem to be another wasteful taxing body also.
OT - Feds: 'Swine flu bandit' suspect is bank employee
Matthew Mahoney, whose father is a convicted hired killer now in jail and mother a Chicago cop, was nabbed by the FBI on Nov. 10 outside a South Loop bank.

Only here in chicago is it useless, for majority of the country, the county government is the second form of government, in that state, but not here in Chicago. Even the Governor can't do anything until they speak to the mayor. Only in Chicago. Bow down to the political hacks in Chicago.
