Anita is Not Your Friend

Rumor? Or truth?
  • Anita has ordered her Public Integrity Unit to review all police abuse settlements over $100k for the past five years. They will use the depositions of "victims" and witnesses to charge the involved officers.

The first is this Park Ridge Lt. There are supposed to be around 50 Chicago cases being reviewed for criminal charges.
This would seem to be a bit far fetched - until you read the entire article from the Sun Times:
  • Gleason is the aunt of one of the boys. Gleason said her sister, the boy's mother, has moved the family away from Park Ridge to another suburb "because of feeling very, very harassed by Park Ridge police."

Gleason said her sister's family wants nothing to do with the criminal case.

"They've washed their hands of it," Gleason said.

No cooperation from the so-called "victim," yet Alvarez's office is pressing ahead with a four-year-old case where the offender/victim already pleaded guilty and paid restitution to the original victims.

Remember, Anita Alvarez ran on a platform of putting police officers in jail. Not a word on thorough investigations of bogus allegations or prosecuting those who lie on sworn affidavits against police officers - she promised to jail police.

no, this is not true. they are not looking at old or present lawsuits. My cousin(long time ASA) is on anita alvarez's staff and when I told her this she laughed about it and said nothing like this is going on. Also, this case was not picked up from a lawsuit or from a victim. it was referred to the states attorney after the departmental investigation(from an outside agency) concluded that the officer acted inappropriatly and had the DOCUMENTED interviews with numerous citizens and park ridge police officers who went on record stating the officer had kicked and punched the kids while on the ground and in handcuffs. they are bringing this case up based on that...especially the testimony from the responding park ridge officers implicating the lieutenant in this mess. dont freak out people... they may want to clamp down on the police but they are not thumbing through lawsuits of the past to lock people up...trust me on this.

Don't know if this rumor is true or not, but do know that it wouldn't be hard to believe. Anita picked Jack Blakeley to be her number one go to asa over a year ago. He helped lobby for her campaign and they knew each other back in the day as junior asa's.

JB has carte blanche to do whatever he wants and make any changes he wants in the whole asa office. He has been doing it. JB is the chief in charge of public integrity/special prosecutions, but he rules the whole building.

What you need to know is JB is a former us attorney, a moronic idiotic one at that. JB is so dumb, how dumb is he you ask, he is so dumb that he got canned from the us attorney's office. Do you know how hard that is to do in this city? He only got there in the first place after his daddy make four phone calls. JB is going the only attorney backwards, asa up to ausa ,back down to asa.

He is the one you gotta watch out for. He has a political agenda. He is a fast talker. He is doing everything and anything for Anita. Because he wants something. And that something could be you.

Anita should indict several trial lawyers and their clients for perjury. That might restore confidence in her decisions in brutality cases.

It is obvious that many of these individuals are committing perjury in hopes of a "get out of jail" card and winning the "ghetto lottery".

The States attorneys office blew over a million dollars on the R Kelly case and they didn't have a cooperative victim.

It's all about publicity and protecting the political hacks in the states attorneys office. All the supervisors in the office have to find a way to justify there existance. They have no talent to go into the private sector and litigate. They will either retire from the office or hit the jackpoy and be appointed a judge. DO NOT vote for career states attorneys for judge unless they spent some time as private attornets.

I always love when I'm at 26th st and I'm asked to sign a petition for some ASA running for judge. I politely tell the person collecting the signatures that I dont sign for people unless I know what kind of character they have.

Anyone working at this point, for these people, is completely ignorant and deserves what they get WHEN it comes.

They obviously don't care about prosecuting criminals. They are the typical democrat retards who care only about screwing the police and rewarding the thugs.

How do you feel when you arrest the same violent offenders and read that they've been locked up DOZENS of times before? They aren't in jail because the Crook county system wants them out there.

They're saving the jail space for you , officer.

The statute of limitations runs for three years after an incident. The only way you can bypass that after it has expired is if you've testified at a deposition or a civil trial. Just like the Burge case they used his testimony from a deposition to go after him.

The fifth ammendment is there for a reason, use it. It doesn't mean you're guilty of anything. They can't use that as a determining factor of any guilt. You're simply protecting yourself from overzealous prosecutors.

To the first comment, 12:14

I'm calling BS and I dont beleive that you are even the Police making a comment like that.Your writing doesnt even sound like the Police.

First off, this incident is 4 years old!!!, and there are no citizen witnesses to this.

My information comes from someone who worked on this case from within the PC unit.

Also, and here is the big one, the statute of limitations for Agg Battery is 3years. When your cousin or whom ever was questioned about this, the Public Corruption unit states that they indicted the Lt over a year and half ago and sat on the indictment until last Friday. Have you ever heard of that before?

Gee, why would they sit on an indictment for over a year and a half??? Lets see, cause we all know that you could get a quarter indicted if it flipped the wrong way.

If all the officers involved when on the record as witnessing this, why did it take 4 years to put together?

Why after NONE of the officers changed the story from the truth, backing the LT ( this pissing off your Aunt Anita) did they send the 2 FBI agents that are assigned to the Public Corrution squad to all theofficers house in an attempt to intimidate them, 2 years later.

And my source who is in the ASA ' s office also, said the only reason why this went forward is because the Civil Atty is close with your Aunt Anita, thats why it was pushed.

And as for it being referred by an outside agency, Park Ridge, BS Again. The Farley family never reponded to nor cooperated with this incident, and there was a finding of NO WRONG DOING by the PRPD.

The ONLY thing that might be correct about your statement is maybe they arent going after officers with large settlements, but the 98% of the rest of your statement is a complete fabrication.

This case was brought forward because the victims aunt, who happens to be their Atty, is friends with your aunt Anita.

Did you know that the civil atty knew over a year ago that this Lt was going to be indicted? hmmmm, how is that possible if Grand Jury proceddings are secret?

So do us all a favor and go back to your desk in the Public Corruption Unit, and stop putting your BS on this blog and sucking up to your aunt Anita.

I am friends with the Lt, I support the Lt, and I am the Police, unlike you.

At some point she will loose her re-election and people will see her for what she is. Unfortunatly, that will be the time some Chicago/Crook County politician appoints her as a judge. Then the real screwing begins for individual officers.

OT - Chicago police and FBI agents fanned out across city neighborhoods early today, scooping up members of the violent Traveling Vice Lords street gang.

Members of the Traveling Vice Lords, one of the city's largest gangs operating on the West Side, have been thought responsible for a number of high-profile crimes, including the 2007 home invasion robberies of two NBA players and the shooting deaths of Chicago Det. Robert Soto and his female companion.

I think you are a little mixed up. First of all, yes the Illinois Statute of Limitations is 3 years, that is correct, but it has nothing to do with depositions or a civil trial. It doesn't start to run until the crime is discovered. In the case in Park Ridge it is likely that the crime came to light in or during a civil trial or hearing. Burge was charged in Federal Court and that was governed by the Federal Statute of Limitations. While I don't know offhand what it is, it may be 3 years. If so, it is merely coincidental.

I have no idea what you are talking about in relation to the 5th Aendment.

Of course when one has such a formula, one continues to work it in the hopes of continuing to win elections.

So it looks as if you are saying prosecuting officers for wrong-doing is a political act on the part of Alvarez.

It must be deeply and doubly satisfying when the political act serves to bolster a personal friendship as well.

We can all sleep more soundly now, knowing Alvarez has it all covered; keeping the citizens safe through the use of her workable and winning political strategy.

Anytime an officer obtains rank in a small department there are many who want too see him fall so they can move up the food chain. We are employed in a very cut throat business.

Wrong again.

Maybe the third time will be the charm, so I will repeat the question originally posed to 11/17/2010 06:11:00 PM.

How do you know what sworn testimony was given to the Grand Jury and by whom it was given?

In addition, others who've weighed in, professing knowledge of this case as it pertains to outside agency investigations and DOCUMENTED interviews with numerous citizen, should answer the questions posed. Or they should shut their pie holes and stop spewing bullshit they aren't prepared to defend.
