Barricade Ends Peacefully

  • An armed man who reportedly was threatening suicide and who barricaded himself in the bathroom of an apartment in the Rogers Park neighborhood for about nine and a half hours Thursday morning, is now in police custody.

The incident began about 12:50 a.m. in the 7700 block of North Sheridan Road, according to police News Affairs [...].

A male armed with a gun was reportedly threatening suicide and barricaded himself inside a bathroom, according to [News Affairs].

No one shot, no one dead, no innocent victims. Stuff the Department often doesn't get (or give) credit for. It isn't part of the picture the media and politicians like to paint about out-of-control cops or blood-thirsty racial profilers killing altar boys and aspiring oncologists.

Good job Officers.

Probably no rough and tumble Tracy Ladner hating white officers there, no doubt.

RWOC for his efforts: wasting countless department resources, endangering the lives of all involved, threatening officers with an AK-47 and being here illegally-not from Mexico. Glad to see our system really works.

I live about a block from the scene and was absolutely awed at the professionalism shown by the force. As sad as it is that someone is so troubled, it was reassuring to see that the situation was completely under control from beginning to end.

Great job, officers! I don't think you hear that enough from us regular citizens.

If the right bosses are at any major scene, no mattter what, things run smooth as silk. It's just if you get asshat, fucking I know everything bosses, like BIS D/C CA, that everything turns into a clusterfuck.

You'll get no praise or acknowledgment from the press because you did a bang-up job as usual. Rats! They need a headline. We think you're the best. Hats off.

Good job men!

If you're gonna barricade yourself somewhere, might as well be some place you can take a leak or a dump if you have to.

Long cold night...good job to 1st Officers on scene. Good job with Negotiators trying to effortlessly talk this goof out of shooting himself and others with his AK47 and good job to the SWAT officers who locked him down and placed him into custody without incident. At any moment, this could of turned into a bad thing.
