Another Plea
A former Chicago police officer pleaded guilty today to federal felony charges stemming from one of the worst misconduct scandals in the department's history.
Keith Herrera, 33, admitted taking part in three robberies in which he and other officers with the Special Operations Section stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash from suspected drug dealers and other citizens after making illegal searches of their homes or traffic stops.
He faces up to 13 years in prison when he is sentenced July 14.
What will today bring? Only two left to plea.

OT...Heard from Bill Cozzi, besides his petition to the SCOTUS being denied they will not transfer him either. "the future looks bleak....please tell everyone that I am confident that things will get better at CPD and I want to thank you and all the CPD officers for all the kindness and support...and it is the greatest Police Dept on the earth"
Keith,talked all about his crimes on 60 minutes and now he is still looking at 13+ years? Great job,you snitched and told lies and now you still have a long prison turn ahead trust the media keith they are your friends LOL!

Too bad they went bad, we needed alpha males on this department to go after the dope dealers. Without their aggressiveness we are left with a majority of report writers.

No, J.B. will not be indicted neither will any other coppers. This whole thing is done with. The feds sit on things for a while but they indict everyone at once not in stages. Fitzgeralds office filed the brief stating that the case is pretty much closed and the results of the investigation. If they were not indicted by now then they escaped.

J.B. get indicted? No, i worked in sos while jake was there. He never took a dime. He was the supervisor on the street but was never on scene of any of these Home invastions that these goofs did and never took money. Why would you want anyone else to get indicted in this mess? are you that bitter at others that you wish them to be in jail? Quit this job, nobody wants to hear your bitching and moaning on this site or at roll call anymore.. After you walk out im sure everyone sighs and says, "thank god he is gone, what a tool". so go complain and be bitter somewhere else... or are you gonna still sit around roll call telling all the ppo's your stories about back when you were the real police in 153?? I know you use to be in sos and are one bitter fool. Just go away and hide in a corner somewhere, nobody will miss you.

Wrong.
This is the end. All state charges dropped. No more federal charges. No more defendants.
All this for the dozens of headlines. This is all it ever was.
Why did J.B. resign? Some big ?????? Give the top ten reasons.
Herrara was a punk when he was in 008. Always went on jobs with his eyes and his pockets open. The problem is that he is only thirty three now. How long has this case been going on, three, four years. We should look into who put this unexperienced thief into sos in the first place. Nobody wanted to work with this jag in 008. WAGONMAN
The Cook County States Attorney's office and IAD fucked the case up with bad I.D.s of the accused officers. The feds really wanted no part of a fucked up investigation. So they go with the stretched law of Civil Rights was that law passed to get the KKK

First, he did not "resign." He retired. There is a huge difference. If you knew him, you would know that from his first days on the job, he always said he would retire when he hit 50. He did just that. You are a real Asshole!
Sorry Office, but I have to disagree. Maybe your right that there won't be anything further, but as far as indicting all at the same time, just look up the tow scandal arrests.....one thing leads to another.
I dont think the tow scadles were federal.. I belive they were indicted in state court.
I wonder if Keith will be able to get his eyebrows waxed in prison like he did for the TV interview he did??? ~sings i feel pretty oh so pretty~
He and the rest of the morons disgraced a once mighty unit that did great police work out there.
The sickening part was alot of the supervisors including the second to last commander revered these guys. To the point where the commander came to our watch, gave us the statistics for the other watch that Keith and Jerry were on and we were called DOGS....... We all muttered under our breathe and said one day it will catch up with them and it did. You reap what you sow. But disbanding and tarnishing all that did good honest decent work is disgusting... Thanks Little Jerry and Big Jerry and the rest of you phucks!
