Ten Years is a Good Start

Here's what happens when you have real judges and real state's attorneys applying the law as it was written and intended:
  • A judge in central Illinois has sentenced a 25-year-old man to 10 years in prison for spitting on a correctional officer at the Champaign County Jail.

A jury convicted Emmanuel Chapple of aggravated battery to a correctional officer.

The Champaign News-Gazette reports that Chapple earned the hefty sentence Wednesday because it was his third serious felony conviction, making him eligible for a mandatory prison term of between six and 30 years.

In Cook County, Anita would have her people CI the case until the entire jail tier could be interviewed; the judge would offer the shithead a glass of water and ask if he was parched; the reverends would demand the officer be prosecuted to the fullest extent for provoking the spit; the media would report the prisoner was just about to turn his spit around; then Quinn would pardon him.

Glad to hear it, it's about time.
Chicago/Cook County is run by shit head mental midgets.

If ET's were to scan City Hall/County Building for
intelligent life forms they would move on because "no intelligent life form detected".

It's nice to know that there are people of reason within the State of Illinois' criminal justice system who understand the written law.

Hit it right on the head, to many liberal tree huggers in cook county to actually hold individuals accountable. One nice thing with Rahm, unlike shortshanks is he was elected without needing help from these pastors and many community groups, so he owes them nothing! Let's hope Rahm keeps them at a distance, the first time he gives in to these groups he has lost that power and they will own him, he should do what is right not what the community leaders or pastors want to see

Back in the Day, it always turned out to be a wonderful day in traffic court when the call was supervised by a downstate judge filling in for a cook county hack. The Judge would continually be amazed at the defendants attire, demeanor, asking the Officer "He did what?, he said What? More fines and jail sentences than felony court! GOOD TIMES GOOD MEMORIES!

ASAs couldn't cut it in the private sector, so they prey on the tax payers.

Lets interview every body who was on the three buses that were re-routed around the scene of the shooting. They wanted to locate these people by a run of the CTA fare cards used to ride the buses [yeah, right...]
Sadly, a true story

PS - F U BRASIL [Felony Review Stupid-visor] for our friends joining the circus already in progress.

LMAO!!!! Thanks for the commentary and the laugh, SCC.

On a side note a know a police commander in Will County, he told me if a civilian so much as touches a police officer it is an automatic agg batt. No felony review, no states attorney, and none of the BS we have to deal with. Can't wait to retire and get the hell out of here.

The Crook County traffic court Fees and Fines are Ass Backward! Why do you think that is? Remember when court fees were $15 but the Fines that went to the City or State were upwards of $100 or More... Now they access Low Fines $15 etc. but $135 in Mandatory Court Cost! This way the County gets the Bulk of the $$$

Gotta give kudos to a west suburban ASA and bond court judge that have our backs-
POS spit on and head butted an arresting cop on a FTA warrant arrest (prior agg. batt. to cop). POS is sitting in county jail on $75K bond.

Quinn doesn’t have to pardon him, he has the system rigged now so that on average murders, rapists and thugs of all kinds serve only one sixth their sentence – so he’ll be out in less than two years. And don’t worry I know what you’re thinking, even if he is still in jail during the Presidential election he can vote in jail now so there is no chance he’ll miss his opportunity to vote Democratic. Members of our armed forces overseas often can’t vote because they are sent their ballots too late but they bend over backwards to insure the tax consuming scum can vote.

IANAL, but why can't these shitheads be given a change of venue to DuPage, Lake, Kane or Will? It would be a hike for CPD members, but a lot of us out here hate shitheads of any stripe (and there are plenty of them). I'd gladly find for the prosecution when jury duty rolls around.

not a cop, not a lawyer, just someone who wants to see the shitheads get what they have earned

Champaign man gets 25 years in DUI case as Class X felon

Tue, 05/31/2011 - 4:12pm | Mary Schenk
URBANA — A Champaign man with a long history of felony convictions was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison for his third driving under the influence conviction.

Kenneth Dalton, 43, who listed an address in the 2600 block of Campbell Drive, was convicted by a Champaign County jury in April of driving while drunk in Savoy on Dec. 24, 2010.

Assistant State's Attorney Andrea Bergstrom said a Champaign County sheriff's deputy stopped Dalton for speeding on U.S. 45 near Church Street. He smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot and glassy eyes, and an open 24-ounce beer can in his vehicle.

On field sobriety tests, he showed signs of impairment and urinated on himself while trying to perform the tasks. He refused to submit to chemical testing, Bergstrom said.

Dalton's criminal history included two prior DUIs, four burglary convictions, and other convictions for driving under revocation, manufacture or delivery of a look-alike substance and cannabis, domestic battery and driving under suspension.

He was on parole for a 2005 burglary conviction at the time of his arrest. Because of his record, Dalton had to be sentenced as a Class X felon to between six and 30 years in prison.

Judge Richard Klaus imposed the 25-year sentence on the DUI and a concurrent six-year sentence for a driving under revocation count to which Dalton had pleaded guilty the day before his jury trial began.

Champaign County doesnt like DUI drivers either.
