NATO Coming to Town
- World leaders will gather in Chicago next spring to assess the situation in Afghanistan and discuss the future of the war effort there, President Barack Obama will announce in an address from the White House tonight.
The NATO summit will serve as a chance to review goals laid out by the security alliance in Lisbon last fall, when leaders agreed to begin transition to full Afghan responsibility for security in 2014, a senior administration official said.
The summit, to be held between May 15 and 22 of next year, will coincide with another international meeting in Chicago as the Group of Eight industrialized nations convenes to focus on global economic issues.
Rahm's already begging for money to pay for the security arrangements for the back-to-back conferences. We'd hope there are going to be plenty of hire-back opportunities.

MSF was tasked with Dignitary Protection, and along with TRU responded to civil unrest, crowd control, gas teams, tool and cut teams. All of these functions came with appropriate training, who will do it now. These skills will all bbe needed for a G8 protest. This will be a disaster without the ability to respond appropriately. The time to think about it is now, the training and preperation comes now not right before that type of event.
We should be down by 4000/5000 PO's by then. I wish the union would step up.

The real kicker is that Mike bought a used 2010 Lincoln instead of new. Why did Shields have to spend $37,000.00 for a vehicle? He should have leased an economical vehicle or purchased something like Mark Donahue's Dodge Journey. FOP will probably give Mike his vehicle when he leaves office. This isn't going to be 1968. You don't have a motivated Police force that will protect the City.
We are undermanned and under trained. Federal money for the Department has been mismanaged or outright stolen. Most importantly we are under motivated. We have been vilified in the Media for years and are treated like shit for doing a job that needs to be done.
You have taught your children to 'question authority" for so long, they no longer listen to authority at all. It's all about them.
