Blago to Rehab
As Scott Fawell suggested, the convicted ex-governor has decided he's addicted to something and needs rehab:
- Convicted former Gov. Rod Blagojevich wants to enroll in a substance-abuse program at a federal prison outside of Denver, a move that could shave up to a year off of his prison sentence.
Blagojevich’s legal team, however, has downplayed the request, briefly mentioning the drug program by only its acronym in court Tuesday, resulting in hardly anyone noticing among a throng of reporters. And then, a day later, the attorneys declined to comment at all.
But the move raises questions about whether Blagojevich suffers from a real substance-abuse problem or is simply angling to reduce his stiff 14-year sentence.
The only addiction we see Rod having is an inability to shut the hell up and stop putting his own foot in his mouth. Which, incidentally, we'd like to see more of so maybe some investigator makes a run at Shortshanks, Madigan or another Machine politico.

He serves 10 years instead of 11. He will be a broken old man when he gets out. Fuck him and the horse he rode in on.
Gimme a break. You mean to tell me that no one else would even take a shot like this if it meant getting their sentence reduced by maybe a year? It's just part of the game.
I agree that I'd like to see "some investigator make a run at Shortshanks, Madigan or another Machine politico" but more that that, I'd like to see the pieces of shit that actually shoot and/or kill people do as much time as blago is going to have to do. There is something seriously flawed about a legal system that allows killers to NOT be put to death or jailed for life (or even 14 years!).
The only things Blago is addicted to are publicity and Brylcream. You knew that ploy was coming. I certainly hope the powers that be can see through this bullshit.

He's going to prison because he didn't go along with the game.
The carrot they're offering him is a presidential pardon.
He'll get his pension then and considering this is Illinois, probably get re-elected.
I'd like to know why he isn't being considered for doing his time down in Louisiana. All this BS about sending him somewhere close so his family can visit him.
Not to worry--Blago will get pardoned by President Obama before Obama leaves office--just watch

Blago is addicted to vanity and self praise.
If Blago kept his nose clean, he wouldn't need a get out of jail card.
Until doomsday, Blago can say "I was set up!". It doesn't matter, because he chose to break the laws by choice.
In the future, Blago can build some Habitat For Humanity homes. :)
