Perspective
Walter Jacobson has far too much baggage and far too many bridges to rebuild between himself and rank-and-file police officers for us to actually believe any of the crap he spouts.
Here's a link to his Perspective "supporting" the men and women he pretty much pissed all over to make his career over the years. Sixty seconds of support isn't erasing a lifetime of dislike.

It is what it is. If he wrote a shitty commentary coppers wouldn't be happy either. Take it at face value and move on.
Walter Jacobson has become a caricature of himself and is totally irrelevant. He is simply unwatchable.
Skippy sucks,
I am tired of Hoodie Skittle Trayvon. Any new Herbie stories???
As I've often said about McPhotoOp, one good move doesn't make a good man (sorry, Del). And one good editorial doesn't make Walter perfect, either.
But the perspective is dead-on this time. Maybe Walter is paying attention. Or maybe he's grown up a little.
Whatever his motive...this time he spoke the truth.
Notice this was said on a weekend when nobody pays attention to the news anyway! Nice try mope!
Police are never happy, our own worst enemy... right now, at a time when we have been trampled on time and time again, at such a critical time when the future of our profession is at stake, someone in the media of all places, gives us support, somebody gives the public a positive spin of the police to counteract the negatives this administration is putting out and you criticize it??? As for me, Thank you Walter Jacobson, we will take all the help we can get..
If our union wasn't run by idiots this would not be an issue. Mike sold us out. Time to just pay fair share in union dues. Are union is irrelevant why we pay all that dues.
Has hell froze over?
When Walter was cutting his chops, the News was still relevant and people still believed in reporters. The Twenty four hour a day cable news has made the 10:00 News so much less relevant. It has also exposed how much the Media sensationalizes the stories for personal gain.
The dirty secret of the Media is: They need to make money, and so they have become, or always were, as corrupt as any politician, copper or business owner they 'exposed'.
I know we hate the Media because they are unfair to us to sell papers or advertising space, but I have seen Walter at more than a few fund raisers for coppers. He was polite, even when the odd officer wasn't. He knew how it was.
So Walter, if you are reading this, most of us old timers know the game. Thanks for the story and keep plugging away at the bad guys. We will too.
Maybe if the FOP was doing their job, we wouldn't be having this discussion at all. And no, It's not divide and conquer; It's stupidity and lack of leadership.
Take the support and stop complaining and move on.
Don't be surprised if you find out his daughter actually wrote that article. I met Amy once at a police event she was very nice and appeared pro police......I've been on this job a long time and most old timers know Walter is our enemy so its gonna take a lot more than one article to convince me.
I/F KMA
You really f***ed up, Walter. It could have been so different. But you, like other members of the media like to make that name and fame for yourself by pissin' on people you count on for help. But you don't need them for help, do you Walter? Please reveal to us what it was, what thought or occurrence made you change your opinion?
I think Wally was drunk when he wrote and said this.
You have to give credit when credit is due. It is that simple.
Thank you Jacobson for the perspective.
Maybe the tide is starting to turn back in our direction.

The sad thing is you have no idea what you're talking about and you are helping to mislead the membership. It's called an Evergreen Clause. Unless FOP did it on purpose (which I doubt), they missed the deadline and the contract is now extended for an additional year; unless Rahm feels like negotiating now.
This is not divide and conquer, this is WAKE THE FUCK UP! We better start going to meetings now before these idiots on the board fuck things up worse for us. Now is the time to get involved and make sure they are paying attention. (BECAUSE CLEARLY THEY ARE NOT).

No, dumbfuck, YOU haven't clue the first what youre talking about. And its obvious that you dont attend meetings. Reading is a skill, and reading COMPREHENSION is yet a bigger, much more important skill. The first poster is right on the money. You? Not even close dummy. Do all of us a favor and stay away from the meetings so your ignorance doesn't spread. Let the men handle the business, you go play Xbox or something. Generation Y that thinks they know it all. Jaysus!!

Ah, now that's what I was waiting for. What took you so long to respond Mike? Starting to feel the pressure I'll bet. Your incompetence will be your ultimate demise.
You must be right of course because this is the first time since the clause was put in the contract that the notice of termination was not submitted. I guess they were wrong to do so all those past contracts. And I guess the rest of the organizations and CFD are out of their minds for submitting their notices of termination. Of course you are the only one who can be right about this.
For our sake, I hope this works out.
Thank you Walter. Quit bitching assholes!! Give the man some credit. Thank you sir.
Just like to say Thank you Walter!
Thanks Walter! You won a freebie from me.

Amy Jacobson is Swedish and no relation to Walter. She was the MC at the dedication of the memorial to Mike Ceriale at Horner Park last May.
She has always been very pro-police and willing to help out.
Thank you Walter
I like this too. Once again, taking my fun where I'm finding it. Thanks Walter.
