This was in Michael Sneed's column today:

"Hmmmm . . . Could Mayor Rahm Emanuel pull a “Gipper” move?

To wit: Would Rahm take a page out of former President Ronald Reagan’s handbook and issue orders to fire striking teachers . . . and immediately hire their replacements?"

Does anyone have any inside information as to the validity of this story?

My own Dad has been gone since 1982. As I have gotten older I am realizing how much the old man knew. So much of what he tried to teach me has turned out to be the God's honest truth. Funny how much smarter he becomes the older I get.

After all the millions pissed away on the destruction caused by the savages of LA after the Rodney King trial, the nearly 4 million pissed away by King himself and countless millions spent to settle frivolous lawsuits around the country (in an attempt to avoid the next riot) what have we learned? 1) pull over when the police are attempting to stop you in a marked unit with lights activated 2) listen to the commands given by the police so they don't have to use force to get you to comply. Seems like a big waste of money for lessons most people have a firm grasp on by the time they leave the first grade. The African American community can now bury a "martyr" for the cause and thank scumbags like him, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton etc for again teaching them something most people from other communities learn from their parents at a young age. Novel concept.

My last car was a Honda Accord. I kept it 10 years with no major problems. I just bought another Honda Accord, new, and got $4,000 on the trade in. Do some research and hold out for the best price. The price you get first is usually $1,500-$2000 from where they will go if you keep up bargaining. And don't forget, after they give you what they say is their best price, don't make the deal without looking right at the salesman or manager and simply asking, "Is that the best you can do?"

Then start heading for the door. If they stop and ask what it will take to sell a car, then the next price they give you might be worth considering.

In 1981 PATCO (Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization} violated federal law that banned strikes by government unions. PATCO went on strike, Reagan ordered them back to work, PATCO refused and Regan gave them a drop dead date, return to work or be fired. Those who stayed out were fired and never worked as controllers again.

The union was decertified and new controllers were trained and hired. Same thing would happen if the CPD went on strike.

The law would have to be changed. Now there is no law forbidding teachers from striking. There is for police and fire.

I also bought my last three cars at Carmax and was very satisfied. Hint, be prepared to wait and shop on line until you find exactly what you want. Be able to buy with cash or with outside financing like the credit union. When you do buy, use and out of the city address but still buy your Chicago Vehicle Tags as long as you work for the city.

That would be the same commander who walks down 63st alone stopping people? that guy! The guy who thinks he is a Texas ranger, but really has no clue how to take care of the troops that guy! Just another speed bump before retirement, another guy with no clue and no resources who is drying up any respect he had with the coppers in 008 due to this blunt ignorance! Yea boss what you need boss? May KUP RIP the last of the truly great bosses!! Crime was down when KUP was in, but then again a real man knows how to get things done mcnothing has no clue!!

What! No Lieutenants!

Well just go to show you, they got Sergeants doing the work of CAPTAINS at no extra pay.

So why do they need Lieutenants, they're getting rid of Captains.

Brooklyn Boy will bring in some of his old prescient pals he used to shoot at street light with to take over the districts. I mean, how hard can it be if anyone who is triple merit promoted can do it?
