More Sun Times Nonsense
A Chicago Police officer and a 15-year-old boy shot each other Wednesday night on the Far South Side, police said.
The 35-year-old officer was shot near his knee and the teen in his leg and side in the 1300 block of 112th Place, officials said.
About 8 p.m., plain clothes officers stopped three teenage boys for “suspicious activity,” police said. But the 15-year-old boy fired at the officers and “engaged in a gun battle,” said Police Supt. Garry McCarthy.
But at least two residents said the officer shot his gun first.
So now the Slum Times expects us to take the first bullet or two before we can legally eliminate the threat to our own lives? We must have missed that part of the State Law. Was this something Quinn added at some point after hours when no one was looking?

I'm still sick of hearing...Drew Peterson, former "police segreant." What did the guy that allegedly shot his wife and kids on the side of the road do for a living? What's that??? Oh yeah, the jagoff media doesn't tell us that because he wasn't a police officer. Fuck the media. If I get the chance to write even the silliest of violation, if its there, I WILL write it. Fuck 'em!
If the officer didnt even shoot his weapon there would have been at leaast 2 residents who would have said he shot first!
This is the mentality that has caused this rising of violence!
They will stick up for each other no matter how wrong their savage acts are!
In a peaceful neighborhood the residents would be applauding the courageous act of the police officer,who put his life in jeopardy to keep the peace!

The threat stops when the assailant is lying dead on the ground or the gun lies safely on the ground and gunman throws his hands in the air. Not before.

But theyll be the first ones on the news after a 12 year old is shot saying "the police need to do more to keep our neighborhood safe." we'll guess what, these officers were doing exactly that. Making a simple contact that turned into a shooting.

Evidently, the kid was the aggressor and drew first. That's all that matters.
It's a happy ending when the victim shoots, preferably first and goes home unharmed. It's a doublely happy ending when the aggressor is killed.
An officer of the law or a citizen can not read minds. Therefore, where an aggressor encroaches within a perimiter that the officer or citizen clearly tells the aggressor not to penetrate, at that point & especially at that point where the aggressor reveals a gun, it's aim, shoot , aim shoot, rinse and repeate.

We cancelled our sun-times subscription at our firm 2 years ago. No one there would even dare to be seen carrying the sun-times. It's like walking into the office carrying a supermarket tabloid. I give them 2 years until they go belly up, their articles reek of desperation. How about reporting the news instead of creating the news? This paper lost its base of middle-class readers 3 or 4 years ago.

Slow your row school boy. Just because a person gets interviewed by the damn media doesn't mean he or she is a resident in the area. People who have a disdain for the police will come out of nowhere just to be on tv and lie for the bad guy no matter what. The people that live in that area work like anyone else and some are retired... many of whom worked for the city. It's also pretty quiet there. The menaces that come to that part of morgan park venture from other areas like Racince courts or from the other side of halsted lurking around looking for someone in particular to hurt. In addition, if these assholes in one particular house on the block where the incident happened would disappear then the residents can live in peace. So please stop it with the judgmental comments...because it has nothing to do with the entire neighborhood. We didn't ask for these folks to live in our community.
