Why is He on the Street?
- Just one day after attending a meeting to reintroduce felons into their communities, a recent parolee with a decades-long rap sheet and history of violence stabbed an Oak Brook doctor during an attempted holdup at a Gold Coast restaurant over the weekend, authorities said Monday.
Jimmy Harris, 56, had been freed from prison just eight days earlier, authorities said.
Harris, who has past gang ties, has at least 60 arrests and nine felony convictions dating to the late 1970s, according to Chicago police, state and court records.
56 years old, nine felony convictions and he still manages to walk the streets, breathing the same air you and we do, stabbing suburban tourists and such.
Maybe this is just a case of "ten strikes and you're out."

I see Chicago Breaking News edited their original story. When I first read it there was a sentence that read something along the lines of, "he has been collectively sentenced to 60 years since 1979."

A few cases come to mind:
2009 - 79 year old Ralph Elliott shot and killed by Lee Cration, 48, a convicted felon on parole and released early. Elliott was getting food for his family on Christmas Eve.
2010 - Officer Michael Flisk and former CHA officer Stephen Peters killed by Timothy Willis, who was on parole and released early.
2011 - 14 year old Kelli O'Laughlin killed in her own home by John L. Wilson, you guessed it, out on parole and released early.
There are more cases I can post here if I had more time. These families should get together and sue the state. And why isn't there more outrage? The above cases broke my heart. Families who had their lives torn apart and will never be the same, yet not a peep from citizens or the media putting the politicians on the hot seat. This should not keep happening.

One can only hope that this asshole will someday soon take 230 grains to his fucking head.

I prefer the old fashioned way, Rule 30-06, eight riflemen at dawn with bolt action Springfield's, 8 in the chest, subject blindfolded and given a last cigarette. They do not feel a thing as their chest insides explode. It is all over in an instant. Merciful and swift and guaranteed no recidivism.
It has worked well for many years.
It's hard for be to believe that this mutt was able to move freely on the Mag Mile and make it into a place like the Westin.
North siders need to hang up the political correctness and start being more aware of the danger that surrounds them.
I feel sorry for the victim but I'm gonna guess he votes democrat and probably voted for the judges that continue to allow this piece of shit ,and others like him, to roam free.

Looks like the super will be practicing his blame game more and more. Less police more crimes, more victims.
Cases get plead out because the victims get tired of coming to court. Put yourself in the victim's and for that matter the witnesses shoes. The offender is arrested, you the victim go to the area, you view a line up. You then wait an hour for an ASA to show up, and you wait another hour before the ASA interviews you, so now you have been there for three of four hours. This is only the beginning,you miss work to go to copurt for continuance after continuance, Cook County treats the offenders better. You miss one court date and the ASA pleads out to a lesser charge and the case is done.

Since the recent election, I try to view things differently. As I see it now, all this fine citizen was trying to do was redistribute wealth. You know, steal from the rich, the old white guy, and give to the poor, himself. That the rich guy suffered physical injury is regrettable but such things happen when society is being realigned. Old thoughts about right and wrong are out the window. See, doesn't that feel better? Now I'm going to watch "Zulu."
