Meet Me in the Deserted Alley...

This is part of a trend we've seen over the past year or three - why trust to blind luck when you can have the victims just bring you their stuff?
  • Bail was set at $350,000 today for a 20-year-old man charged in several robberies where victims were attacked when they responded to ads posted on Craigslist, authorities said.

Andrew Jones, of the 8100 block of South Merrill Avenue, was charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery in connection with several robberies connected to an advertisement on Craigslist, police said.

Police had issued an alert earlier this week warning of people who were robbed when responding to an ad on the site. The victims met a man at a certain location where they were met by an armed robber who forced them to the rear of the location and robbed them, police said.
It's almost like shopping at home.  And you know what they're bringing you in advance.  One victim from Wheeling got gut-shot for his troubles.  Why on earth would you bring anything into the city, let alone some of the neighborhoods this guy was prowling in?

O T/ check out the picture of Rahm and Isiah Thomas in the Tribune. Right next to him is Ameena Mathews (Jeff Forte's daughter), and Tio Hardeman; two beneficiaries of the million dollar BJ.

I read, in one article, that the ads were in the "Men to Men" section. Is that like tools and hunting gear?

This is an example of how naive some people can be. Then again after years of Liberal education and clergy that try to tell people the only bad people on earth are those wearing uniforms and stars; this level of stupitdity is understandable. These are the same moron/ victims who when you ask them the race of the offender; they respond with: "What does his race have to do with it?"

"You can have people bring you their stuff" or you can go to the Michigan Avenue Thanksgiving Light Parade and stab 2 people at Michigan & Delaware & take their stuff. Both stories buried on page 21 of the Sunday Tribune.

Crime scene tape and blood all over the sidewalk for the millions attending the Light Parade to see - another proud moment for the ballerina and McLiar.

Crime is down - move along, nothing to see here.

Why is it --as when I watch a 'reality' police show, like "The First 48"-- murder victims were almost always doing something they shouldn't have been doing in the first place? Even the 'nice guy' victims mostly turn out to have been taking a walk on the wild side, one way or another. And why is it --on 'police dramas' that the criminal demographic is radically different? Another question: Is Rahm somehow connected --given his newfound hatred of machine-dispensed treats-- to the demise of Hostess and the beloved Twinky? Is he just trying to catch up to NYC Mayor Bloomberg, in a pathetic case of Second City me-too-ism?

Lots of honest people advertise things for sale on Craigs list and as you can see , the occasional bandit or murderer. My daughter sold some furniture on Craigs and was home alone when people came by to pick up the furniture. I was plenty angry with her for being so careless. It is a crapshoot .

If what you mean by "tools" is gerbils and lube and "hunting gear" is GHB-laced white wine spritzers.

Oh, well, uh...that is a "specialty market." Better idea why this alleged "transaction" is gonna take place somewhere darkened behind a bush...

Nothing against gay people...but the things some of them will do to make themselves available for anonymous booty calls is just ridiculous.
