012 / 013 Merge on Tap
Word is the Lieutenants have made their choices/bids to leave or stay.
Same source relates the Sergeants are having issues with who stays and who goes due to very high seniority among the newcomers.
And of course, the Officers have no idea who or how many get to remain in the new 012 and what their choices may be to move to - or if the choices are even going to be granted.
Any of this making any sense?

Don't know who your source is on this. I work in 012. We have been told nothing in the way of how many Lt's, sgts or P.O.'s are staying. There are no issues as of yet.
All the officers are staying. Sgt might be getting shipped out.

Our safety is the big picture here the bottom line is we need a change and fast the merge did nothing but make it worse the 2 districts had 18 primary beats now we have 15 and the same amount of land to cover. So take this anyway you like the merge was only for paper results. If I offended anyone oh well I payed my dues and still push a beat car. And mike ryan GO FUCK YOURSELF you will never get 1 inch of respect from me and hundreds other here.

Great idea. Give the coppers in 013 something to worry about that doesn't exist. When 019 and 023 merged nobody went anywhere else. Same is gonna happen here with everyone moving into the new 012. It's a fact and you can print it.

Really? Glad you have the info. I am a spvr in 012. We haven't been told a thing other than the Lt. will pick their furloughs separately while the Sgt. and P.O ranks will pick together. One Lt. is retiring and was told she had to pick a watch even though she wont be making the move. She picked no bid all the way but.... Our acting Commander may not even be going and he is making the management picks. He doesnt know most of the people and isnt taking input. It is all fucked up.
012 and 013 were to be combined geographically. Each sector (10,20,30) supposedly would have 5 beats instead of the 3 taht there are now. That was last everyone heard. One big 012 district. Moving date to new station is probably still up in the air after being put back numerous times. Maybe we can be part of new Chicago Fire show and be portrayed as bigger idiots than we are now too!!!
Exactly how are these mergers helping? Since 19 and 23 combined, I can tell you that I rarely ever see a squad car in uptown south of lawrence, and when I head down to area north for gas there is no squad in sight along western. Before, you would always see another squad or two on your to gas, but now it's like they've disappeared. Did they ship a bunch guys out? Or are they all assigned to protect rahm's mansion?
how will all the dollies survive? they all need days and ''office'' spots! oh, the humanity! let the crying and backstabbing begin! let the fighting over crumbs begin too!

You are correct. 023/019 were both very short handed, so all that happened was two undermaned districts got combined now making one big undermaned district. 019 has lost over 30 P.O's since the merge and has down cars everyday due to lack of manpower. When copers leave 019 they just don't replace them. I imagine 012 & 013 will be the same.

You have part of this right. They decided that it will take 347 officers to run the watches. The rest of the officers which are tact are highlighted yellow. Id say 70 or so tact guys.

There are some 012 district P.O's with less than 8 years on, that have always been on 2nd watch since probation. That is not fair at all, send the them to other watches, pick people with seniority for management spots on days and not just the clouted or ass kissers........you know who you are. Bosses bring some fairness to the selection of those management spots! And don't give us the bullshit "activity" lecture because we are not stupid!

The move from 19to23 is a nightmare the tach lt, is running the show and he is a compleat fucken jag off. The commander is letting him run the show and he is a self serving ass wipe. You must not know what a police car looks like because Uptown is saturated with them. You can't go down a street without seeing a police car. Tact cars are sent there by the bosses. However, the south end of 019 is deprived of police.

Let me start by saying I am not in 012 or on days but I strongly disagree with you.
The management spots should be used SOLELY for those who work (activity based). Seniority should only be used in case of a close call. What is wrong with this entire department and country is the entitlement attitude. I have 8 years on and have seen the same people do nothing for 8 years. Now that they have 12 years of doing nothing, they should be taken care of? A little incentive to those who work is good!

That is not fair at all, send the them to other watches, pick people with seniority for management spots on days and not just the clouted or ass kissers........you know who you are. according to who there are too many officers in 019? There might be too many tact officers and inside people that are hiding all over the place but beat cars are always down while 4 to 6 POs on bikes ride around, and the most important is that our district needs is wagons. Everyday day everywatch there is someone looking for a transport. What are you doing there? Working a beat car yourself or taking in the scenery on a midday stroll?
Who the fuck gives a shit about uptown? We still go and write the fucking case reports. That is all that is mandatory. And answer the radio calls.

19/023 merger has been a mess. Most working coppers have stopped and are doing the bare minimum. Those that "think" they are the police, usually the pets, or tac, who believe they deserve their spot will say otherwise. The amount of waste of manpower is abundant. The workers see it, and choose now to just watch the show. Numbers are out and many will be launched to another watch ,deepening the moral issue. BTW, Ryan is a complete asshole, regardless of you being a worker or not, unless your his drinking barfly.

When the new 012 station opens for business will they bring the slime from the locker room floor in the basement of the old 012 station? Or wil they be watching for the asbestos coming up through the contaminated ground all around the new 012 station? They should re name the station to the lucky 013.

This is real. Just heard it from the brother of a friend who is married to the cousin of the sister of the Sups nephews mailman. 13 and 12 are merging. All the officers from 13 and 12 which make 25 are being relocated to 25. All the 25 district officers are moving to the new 12. Also Dean Stone will be the new District Commander. You heard it here first. O yeah b4 I forget the City has agreed to a 10 % increase in pay for all officers with less than 10 years on the job. It also agreed to a 12% increase to all officers with more than 2 years on the job. Finally things are getting better. :)
