What’s this? Say it aint so! Financial Crimes Det. C.H. was arrested on Friday for shoplifting while at Whole Foods at 3300 N. Ashland. What did she steal you ask? Why $200.00 dollars’ worth of vitamins...a girl has to keep up her strength especially at her age and with her busy schedule. But wait it gets better, she drove to her intended target in a brand new 2013 Dodge Charger! Apparently she was recently assigned to the IRS task force and this is her assigned covert vehicle…property of the Feds. This must have been a reward for all her hard earned efforts! But this certainly can't be the former ET, the pride of Area Four and the apple of her Sgt’s eye. Fear not boys and girls, she will land on her feet like she always does and this will get buried away with all her other misdeeds...guaranteed. Any boss who sponsors her now is a real pos!

Just another case of the department ignoring multiple warning signs with this one. You also have to love the fact that she was stopped by security as she walked back to her FBI task force vehicle. If she's lucky she can reclaim the newscaster job in New Orleans that she claims she once held.
Her last days in A/4 before the merge, she was assigned to handle a shooting but couldn't make it cause she was out shopping at a mall in the suburbs. Her coworkers were told to secure the scene and start the ball rolling until she made it out there. She never showed and the other Dets handled it...thanks to D.M.

She was an arrogant know it all the day she stepped into the academy as a recruit. She had clout and wasn't shy about telling people. She knew she was going to 018, and told everyone how she wouldn't be in patrol long. Well she was right. She was an ET three years later , then a detective in 2005. All the while scamming the system with iod's, medical abuse, her constant lying, and obvious thieving. Nothing but rewards for her behavior. This is a good lesson for ppo's. This is how the department works. It's a great department if you have the right connections. Otherwise get in line bitch. This department is absolutely corrupt.

Did Whole Foods "tip" the Tribune that the alleged shoplifter was CPD? I would not be surprised.

I remember when she was a new detective and they let her sit in on a round table so she could see how it worked. She started asking the shooting officer all kinds of crazy questions after IPRA had their turn. Too bad they ain't brains, she'd be Einstein.
Sad that the majority of this department manage to get out of bed everyday, gets treated like garbage by many supervisors and citizens dealing with dirty filthy criminals, and still manage to do an honest job responding to calls in patrol, but yet the members of the Chicago "elite" and "merits" get whatever they want including assignments and promotions and still find a way to be flagrant and jeopardize our reputation in the public. Its been this ways for decades and will never change. If you are looking for a real police department where hard work and honesty gets you somewhere, look elsewhere. This ppo went awol from loop traffic. Left work afew hours early and was caught. Lied about it to commander of traffic section and got a cr. Cried at police board meeting and wasn't fired. Disgusting
Her supervisor JL' made sure she was taken care of with the good spots and it wasn't because she is such a smart financial crime det. That's the way it has been run in this unit for years. It's too bad hq turns a blind eye on what's going on there.

She'll be fine, just look at P.O. LK from news affairs...she got arrested for shoplifting twenty five years ago. Walked out of a store downtown wearing a leather coat that she didn't pay for and got pinched. Now she's the voice in the ivory tower who releases statements to the media on behalf of the department. Nice how her clout has taken care of her all these years. Was never the police! Nothing to see here...now move along!

There was a civilian investigator who worked for the Inspector General's Office who got pinched at that Whole Foods a few years back. She pushed a whole shopping cart of goodies out of the store and into the parking lot where she got pinched. Said she forgot her purse in the car and was going to retrieve her wallet then return to the store to pay for said groceries. She went through the arrest process and was eventually fired. Her CB# and arrest photo can no longer be found in the system...guess it was a dream!
I don't think she was merit on any test. I could be wrong, though. I do know that she was one strange bird. Or should I say, cat.

That's how those spots are given. When John C., FOP treasurer got dumped out of the office at FOP, he came to FCU and was immediately put on a task force, even though he had (and still hasn't) a clue as to what he was doing....and there were other det's who'd been in that unit a long time, who knew what they were doing, who were passed over because they had no clout (no, I'm not one of them).
JC also took credit for things he had no part of, and let investigations sit idle for months. He broke his arm last year and was off, and that's when it was found he hadn't been doing jack shit, nada, on his cases.
And yes, he's still on a task force with a take home car. Pathetic.
The sgt. in that unit thinks he is a commander, been in that spot waaaaaaaay too long. Needs a wake-up call, dump him out of there.

More to the point, why are YOU so special? Why should YOU get to instantly access and publicize an arrest report without going through the FOIA process like everyone else? Why should your position as an employee of the Chicago Police Department give you the special privilege of poking through arrest reports and disseminating them?
Don't General Orders prohibit you from doing so? Don't they preclude you from using your official position for such purposes?
Let me save you the time of searching for an answer. Unless you are involved in the investigatory process, you are prohibited from doing so and you are specifically prohibited from disseminating that information without permission from the Department. Integrity. Try it sometime.
