All the Economy's Fault

  • Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Thursday blamed the economic squeeze on the middle class for his 35 percent showing in a Chicago Tribune poll that also shows him trailing Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis.

The Tribune’s findings are similar to the results of a Chicago Sun-Times poll that showed the mayor with 29 percent support overall and only 8 percent from African-Americans. The Sun-Times also did a more recent head-to-head poll that put Lewis in the lead in a one-on-one race.

“There’s tremendous economic stress in people’s lives, which is why I’ve pushed for the minimum wage, which is why I’ve pushed for policies to make sure our small businesses have a fair chance and an equal chance with big companies,” the mayor said.
So Fran takes a Tribune poll and uses it in the Sun Times for Rahm to blame the economic squeeze for his shitty poll numbers. Fran was one of Richie's biggest cheerleaders for years. We suppose to maintain that all important "access" to City Hall, she has to give Rahm some sort of platform to attempt to salvage his reelection try.

Whatever happened to the supposed independent media? Have the Trib and Times finally merged?

Chicago media has no journalist. They should be called CPA's. Cut Paste Artist.

The political apparatchik emails them a press release and they cut and paste and post it as news.

No critical thinking necessary. Nothing.

However, what should one expect from a industry going bankrupt. They are going to cater to the billions of dollars that buys advertising for campaigns and of course you can't piss off the corporations that funded those campaigns either so.

Rahm Emanuel...

The smartest municipal CEO in the modern era?

Outsmarted himself into a corner.

Hey Rahm!

How goes your war against Policemen?

How goes your war against Firemen?

How goes your war against Teachers?

How goes your war against what's left of the middle class taxpayers?

How goes your war again the death culitist contingent of the catered to constituency?

How goes your war go to relace them with freshly waved over and more obedient Central Americans
death cultists to fight with them over what's left of the democratic party?

Gee Rahm... You have an awful lot of unnecessary fights you picked with a lot of people as you parachuted into Chicago.

You told the Firemen: "You're gonna have to learn to bleed!"

You told the Policemen: "We're gonna stick it in the cops ear!"

Your immediate predecessor facilitated the theft of $Billions of dollars in muni employee pension money and for some reason you're protecting him and blaming The Police for the destruction og their pension funds and the meltdown of this city financially.

"Fuck the Cops... Let not hire so our friends on Wall Street can reap a benefit managing their pensions and kick some fees and commissions back to us in the endless loop of campaign money and bust their pensions out so nobody will wonder where the money went."

WTF?

Gee, why did it take him so long to accept this help from the state? Could it be that the latest polls have him dead last as the peoples choice for mayor in the next election? Naw.

He's one of us. Remember that. Look how hard he fought to be declared a resident of this fine city before the last election. He did that because he knew, if elected, that he would have all the resources ( and the ear of his former boss ) of the Federal Government to shower down on Chicago.

So. Four years later, how's that working out?

Hey asshole, that minimum wage you are pushing will only accelerate the demise of medium and small business in Chicago and Illinois in general. They are already under the strain of outrageous property and income taxes. Trust me, I tried making it in Chicago as a business. On top of the above taxes there are application fees, permit fees, inspection fees and on and on and on. A few of the most outrageous fees in Chicago; a fee because the awning on our store front covered part of the sidewalk and a fee to plant trees in front of our business. And yes people, there is even a fee to get a permit to wash your windows. Fuck Chicago!

stated that a witness said person ,offender) had hands in the air when shot , wow witness was accomplice in the strong armed robbery
offender used force against store clerk , could have attempted to disarm the police officer to escape after all he was going to college in a week . an arrest for robbery may have changed his future attending college
still wonder why there is crime in black community , people in power and that influence others defend robbery offenders , people that disarm police officers , people that beat a community security guards head intoa sidewalk . that is the real problem .

Rahm is one of the worst mayors in the history of Chicago, but still, a better chance than not he WILL be re-elected, because:

1 - The media loves him and will continue to cover for him and drool over him

2 - One of the following:
(A): An un-electable dimwit will be on the ballot opposing him, assuring his win, or, (B): 2 or more anti-Rahm candidates on the ballot, splitting the anti-Rahm vote, again, assuring Rahm's win

3 - The average Chicago voter is a complete idiot. Remember, the majority in this city voted Rahm the con-artist in, in the first place. They also voted for Gov. Quinn, who has bankrupted this state. They also voted in, and then re-elected, probably the most incompetent and racist U.S. President ever, Barack Obama.

Talk to the employees and offer to cut a few hours instead of firing people or closing the shop. (The employees might have to work a bit harder to pick up the extra work.)

If you have been in business for 35 years, then this should be a minor battle for you.

Dear Friend: My comment that the majority of this City voted for Rahm, is in reference to those who actually bothered to cast a vote, for after all, THEY are "the voters." Eligible or registered "voters" DO NOT COUNT. Only those who cast an actual vote on election day, constitute "the voters," and you pointed out that "55 or so percent" of those who casted a vote, voted for Rahm.

THAT, my friend, is the majority of voters in Chicago...the ones who showed up at the polls. I vote in every election, and have done so since I was 18, though it is sad that so few "eligible" voters do today....

another lost opportunity to question the con man and make him eat his own words.

Not 2 years ago the president's former right hand man was doing the sunday shows selling the bullshit line that the reason barry should be re-elected was because the economy was back to pre-crisis levels, the recovery was well underway, and the stimulus worked... now all we had to do was wait for all those green jobs, and all those happy people no longer "job-locked" because of all the wonders obamacare would bring, and the jobs! All those jobs coming from the economy being back on the upswing.

You democrats are suckers.

Illinois voters will re-elect Quinn and Rahm because the republican vote tallies won't reach the margin needed to defeat the fraud that comes from "walk around" money.

Madigan was named in a report after the corruption at Metra resulted in an internal investigation that showed he made Shakman hiring practices look like child's play. Will his daughter take up where that investigation left off?

Holder tells Madigan and the General Assembly to "wait" and not go forward with any investigation into the 54 million dollar blatant vote buying scheme by quinn in 2010.

Rahm was big on blaming bush for all of Barry's problems but awful quiet about the bungled "mess he inherited" from his predecessor.

Losers. All of us.

Hmmmm... Rahm needs them for all the illegal alien kids Obama snuck in. I suppose he will indoctrinate them an get them lined up to take our jobs at peon wages.

Has anyone seen where they are stashing these invaders?

BTW... Here is what someone with a twisted sense of humor and very good video editing skills showing what BHO would say if he told the truth.... (a little scary really)

Policies for small business?. As a small business owner for 35 years I have had more trouble from the city in the last 12 months then the previous 34 years . Seems like a never ending stream of inspectors coming up with new violations. Some of the fines for minor things have been incredible. If I'm going to be paying thousands every year in fines and to comply with violations it's probably better to close the doors. Of course , my 4 employess will lose their jobs and my landlord will probably never get another tenant so he'll lose the rent.
______

That is disheartening.

Talk to the alderrman about how you are getting squeezed and the probability of shutting down the busines.

Talk to he landlord. The landlord might be willing to subsidize part of the fines (better than not having a tennant).

Talk to the employees and offer to cut a few hours instead of firing people or closing the shop. (The employees might have to work a bit harder to pick up the extra work.)

If you have been in business for 35 years, then this should be a minor battle for you.
8/15/2014 06:24:00 AM
8/15/2014 09:02:00 PM

Better yet, take your business a block outside the city boundaries, where you don't have to deal with harassment, fines and a hostile business environment.
Minor battle, my ass. The city should be doing all it can to encourage business, not drive it away with gestapo tactics.

"OT...I see that the boyfriend accused in the "stuffed her in a suitcase" murder is being identified in the newspapers as an aspiring rapper. Aspiring rapper. That has to be the largest group of "what I'm gonna be some day" people. Or folks for that matter, but I digress. It seems that he will soon be joining the other hundreds of aspiring rappers in a Mali prison. I wonder if he is a multilingual aspiring rapper. One good thing...there's a lot of metal to bang on so he can lay down some beats."

The balls in the pachinko machine horribly got all lined up right, and a more-than-liberal Oak Park matron reaped the reward of her beliefs.

That was an awful small suitcase -- the man-friend is a 200-pounder, I can just imagine him stomping on the thing, standing on it until girlfriend could get the latches to snap shut.

Mom in a luggage cart, with blood and prints all over everything. Put it in a taxi and that will make it go away.

Indonesia's death penalty is by 12-man firing squad. Come unannounced in the middle of the night, drag you out of your cell and off to an "undisclosed" location in the jungle. "LOAD!" etc.

They have over 400 ancient, terrible prisons, many left over from the Dutch colonizers -- and one new, modern "model women's prison" set up for PR purposes, photos of how great it is on the web. Looks like those "Back To School" advertising fliers, how neat your college dorm room will look with teddy bears and color-coordinated sheets.

The "crazy" daughter has already declined local help and got herself an American lawyer -- money flows like water with these people -- I don't know Indonesia's rules on "state's evidence," but the place is corrupt as hell and runs on bribery. Mattress, catered meals, A/C for your cell, whatever you can pay for. Even the judge.

I figure her to dump on manfriend, maybe get a stiff sentence and eventually repatriated here while manfriend gets the blindfold and a sigaret kretek. (Stay away from those, the cloves in the tobacco will give you "chemical pneumonia." Happened to me when I was a dumb kid. Hospital.)

This is gonna be fun to watch as it goes along.

"Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Thursday blamed the economic squeeze on the middle class for his 35 percent showing in a Chicago Tribune poll that also shows him trailing Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis." -- SCC

Since this Sanctuary City is operated as a "build it and they will come" kindergarten, maybe we really need an exasperated-sounding Communist kindergarten teacher to run it, to talk down to us all and make sure our shoelaces are tied and we don't run in the hallways.

Lot of people going to vote for Karen "to keep they binifits." Frankly, I may become one of them just to get rid of Mayor Fingerslicer.

I think it's called a "protest vote."

Randy Stevens you are correct on all but one issue.
The majority of Chicagoans do not vote. Rahm was elected with a majority of the 25% that turned out for the election. The same sheeple that come out to vote democrat because "that's what we were told to do" The sad thing is we are doomed to repeat this process over and over again until the rest of this God forsaken city gets off their collective asses.

We watched this with some interest waiting for the backstory to finally develop.

Dad was an older black guy and a musician of some reknown.

You pegged Mom EXACTLY for what she appeared to be... Mom was in her early 40's when she birthed "little darlin'..."

Dad died some years ago.

"Little Darlin' " seems to have developed a reputaion in that quiet corner of Oak Park for clowning and showing her ass.

Liberal "Hands Off" parenting?

Fuck that all up in it's ass...

We are on record with ours...

If we feed it, clothe it, shelter it, teach it, love it, endeavor to support it so that it grows up to take it's place in society as a productive citizen?

Well motherfucker, we have the right to beat IT's fucking ass shitless if it does not respond to genteel forms of discipline and correction.

And we will beat that ass even harder if IT has the silly assed notion of physically fighting the effort at at true parental love, correction and discipline.

"Dad is CRAZY!"

That's part of the problem in this country. The liberal nanny-statists demand that you back down from your child so as not to "scar them for life."

How do you want it?

Better the parent tell their little darlin' "no" and "thou shalt not" than little darlin' finding out in the REAL WORLD that there are persons, places and powers that enforce "no" and "thou shalt not" with legally sanctioned bullets, blades and hangman nooses.

This little bitch showed her ass in one of those places.

She IS going to DIE or rot alive by THEIR LAWS.

She may be crazy as fuck but she isn't stupid. She KNOWS she's in the deepest, darkest doo-doo her tender ass has ever been in.

Fuckin' A-right she wants an American lawyer! she doesn't want to be a pile of green, moldy bones left in the jungle.

She's WISHING she were being hauled off by Oak Park P.D.

No pity for her or her jocker.
