Yesterday's revelations include multiple threats by the "New Black Panthers" to murder police officers and the the astounding fact that the person conducting the autopsy for the family doesn't even hold a medical degree - he's a secretary who takes the doctor's notes and he's presenting "magic bullet" theories to the press (who prints 'em):
- “I am a forensic pathologist assistant and medical investigator,” Parcells told FOX 4’s Shannon O’Brien.
However, that’s something of a dubious title according to forensic pathologist Dr. Erik Mitchell.
“That is a degree that does not exist in my knowledge, except in the mind of Shawn Parcells,” Dr. Mitchell said.
Dr. Mitchell takes issue with Parcells’ title. “You cannot claim the title, because it is a formal, licensable position. You can assist somebody; in this way I can say, for instance, I have paid my taxes, so I am an assistant President of the United States,” Dr. Mitchell said.
This is turning into a farce that no decent police officer should be standing for. It's past time for the National FOP and related organizations to step in, start making statements and initiating action.
We have stated time and again here that cops aren't above the law - but we aren't under it either. This guy isn't just under the law, he's under the bus, and it's time to stop.

One of the comments on the donation website (for the officer) said, "I guess this is the only way we're going to be heard". Another said, "The reason we're not out there protesting is we have jobs and responsibilities and families". A LOT of them are talking about him being tried and convicted by the media and having to battle the entire U.S. government.

I was taken aback by Obama/Holder who on the one hand promised a fair and impartial investigation yet on the other latently implies guilt on the officer's part.
The Ferguson case was bungled from the git go. Certainly the lack of transparency and competency contributed to the chaos. A few days later St. Louis officers shot an armed man who refused to surrender his weapon. Captured on video. Looks like a clean shoot (but some idiots are bitching about why they didn't use a Taser on an armed man). Video and audio released the next day.
A couple of years ago in Milwaukee a man who attacked a police officer was shot. The next morning the chief called a news conference and played tapes of 911 calls from black citizens seeking help for the officer who was being beaten.
Face it, race is an issue -- but not often the fault of police. We in law enforcement are left to clean up the mess others create and then blamed if it isn't perfect.
I have seen racist incidents in my career. When I started back in 1973 I remember a finding an intoxicated black woman thrown out of a car by her boyfriend in the street. It was winter and I covered her with a blanket only to be admonished by a senior officer, "Why did you do that? She's only a ------."
And shortly thereafter the black prisoner beaten in an elevator going up to the jail who did not take the first swing.
Times have changed. Communities that once hated the police are demanding an end to black-on-black violence. Good citizens of color are fed up. The media rarely shows them. (A friend on Detroit PD said that after shutting down a crack house in the 'hood there were dozens of people in the street cheering the police -- something that wouldn't have happened 20 years earlier.)
As SCC notes, where is the outrage and demonstrations over little children being gunned down and killed by armed thugs with no moral compass? Why doesn't the president and attorney general speak to this?
What of the people who are afraid to leave their homes, especially the elderly? They are the black citizens who SHOULD be protesting. They've paid taxes, raised families, contributed to the community and now can't enjoy their last few years because of the moral decay and violence around them.

I am old enough to remember the civil rights movement. I was involved in it because it was the right thing to do. But the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and subsequent laws were designed to allow equality of access, not equality of outcome. That is up to the individual.
You can't get an education if you blow off school. No education, good luck with finding a good job. And you can't get a job you don't apply for. We make the communities we live in, for better or worse.
A friend loves living in Atlanta which she calls "Chocolate City." Been there several times. Not perfect but somehow they make it work without the political sleaziness we are accustomed to. It can be done.
I am not so naïve to think that racism has been cured and that there aren't wrongs today. But false claims take away from the legitimate ones.
In Ferguson, MO three of the 53 cops are black. Whose fault is that? Did the city refuse to hire qualified blacks who applied? Or did they apply? (By contrast, a classmate is a chief in the 'burbs who hired the first black officer in an almost all-white city. Why? He was #1 on the list and the most qualified applicant. No quotas, special programs, etc. Hired on merit -- the way it should be.)
A retired black detective's daughter nearly caused a riot at her high school when she refused to sit at the "black table" complaining that "we fought to end segregation and yet you want to continue it." There are black racists, too. And Asians, Hispanics and so on.
What I've seen is the media, so-called reverends and the "politically correct" turn their backs on good black citizens who deserve better. And you can't tell me that there isn't one person reading this who hasn't seen what I said.
And Oprah was right when she said that a lot of black citizens need to come to grips with the fact that the vast majority of whites in America do not wake up every day thinking how they are going to stick it to a black person.
Times can also change for the good. A young officer was complaining to me about racial profiling studies. "How do I know the race of many people I stop? Hell, I always thought Anson [a coworker] was black until I found out he's Indian."
The most vile racists are those who expect less of a person because of color and then feel that somehow they must accommodate and compensate for that. How insulting.
I keep reading commentators who say that America needs to have a serious conversation about race. I doubt it will ever happen because they really don't want it. They want it to come out one way rather than dialogue. Bill Clinton, of all people, dared to say that whites were not being racist when they question why blacks top the charts in so many areas of social disorder.
Yes, we've all dealt with hundreds of assholes over the years of all colors and economic status. But my heart goes out to the good black citizens who live in fear and are largely being ignored and to the officers trying to help but who are likewise being thrown under the bus.
....and in all of this, never have they given a reason, even speculation as to why this officer decided to murder this robbery offender. If they did, they would have to come up with a credible explanation and there is none. Just a copper doing his job. Just an offender out of control. They leave this to the viewer's imagination. The whole Celebrity autopsy was a sham: 1. They did not have access to the clothing, so they could only speculate on distance since there was no gun shot residue to photo or inspect. 2. When asked about the autopsy on Fox, the M.E. could not identify the caliber of the firearm, which means that he did not have actual access to all of the reports. This M.E. is a publicity hound, who "waived" his regular $10,000.00 fee to help the family. Absolute Bullshit! And remember, this is the M.E. who did the Drew Petersen investigation, which now gives me "Reasonable Doubt", even though I think he is guilty.

Just like the mopes at the ME's office here who used to open up those waiting for the post. If they wanted to they could do most of the post, the doctor did the conclusions and signed off on the paper but basically the civilian morgue attendant did much of the slicing and dicing.
That was pre-Toni Preckwinkle. I'm retired now. There were simply too many bodies and not enough doctors for an M.D. to do all of them. Maybe it is all changed now, all legit, performed completely by doctors. Wait, this is still Chicago, Cook County, right? Then there is probably the same group of civilians doing the same shit down there. They just spout the same shit, "We treat yours as if they were our own family."

A 6'4" 300 pound raging animal almost certainly stoked up on PCP (that what the Swisher Sweets were for) who feels no pain and aggression is so off any scale that he will charge an armed cop and try to knock him out and take his weapon and kill him, so in one fu##ing word YES.
In a 37 year career on the streets of Chicago, been there and done that and with a broken nose got the worst of it because backup was there.

Unfortunately in this case I think they will charge the cop even though they may know they will lose the case in trial. The fix is in and the evidence will be ignored just to appease the fools. They could care less about the robbery that was commited, the injuries to the cop, the size of the offender, results of the autopsy and the fact that narcotics were in the offenders system. Years ago when all this Racial Profiling Study crap was started (remember by who, none other than Illinois State Senator Barack Hassan Obama) we had a poster in our district reminding officers that if was the race of the person you thought it was when you made the stop.

Yes. "...death or great bodily harm." He already suffered great bodily harm, his weapon was in danger of being used upon him. Deadly force most definitely WAS justified. I think he showed great restraint. I would have emptied my .45 into the scumbag, reloaded, and emptied another mag into him. Can't make them too dead. I've gone home every shift for 29 years. Right now, he needs money to secure his family's safety. He can't live in his own home. His FOP is paying for representation, but he will need to consult at least one other attorney, he may have to put kids in other schools, he may need any number of other things we can all only HOPE we never need to think of.
And let's not forget, he'll have to pay taxes on the those donated monies, so he's going to get about seventy percent of whatever is given.

An alderman from St. Louis was giving an interview in Ferguson last night along with a reporter from OWN. Both complained that the Missouri Guard is white and this is unfair to black people. Yes, blame the cops and the national guard for everything. Fix them and all will be well with the young black male.

The story is actually more far reaching than Officer Wilson. Our racist AG has been attacking local police departments across the country in an attempt to neuter them, while at the same time every alphabet agency is armed as though they'll be deployed to Fallujah. DON'T forget Barry Hussein's comment about a civilian police force as strong as the military. DHS, Blackwater contractors, coming to a town near you. It's the LOCAL police who live and interact in the community who are targets of this regime who want to instill fear of protecting the community. I suffered some harassment and abuse at the hands of Southern Cops when I was a college student in Nashville TN in the mid 1980s. Nashville cops had the right then to shoot fleeing suspects, I once ran away from cops when I was trying to "liberate" my automobile that was being held hostage by an sleazy tow company...
Shots were fired, I was eventually found by dogs trained to sniff out escape convicts. The cops roughed me up a bit, but afterwards they were nice, fair, thought it was kind of amusing that I was trying to steal my own car.

I have closely followed the Ferguson MO incidents. All evidence supports the cops version. The decease Michael Brown was a huge 6 ft 4 inch 290 lbs thug, and a rather stupid one at that. You have to be rather stupid to strut down the middle of an automobile street seeking a confrontation with law enforcement not 10 minutes after you were captured on closed circuit TV doing a strong armed robbery.

Forensic evidence confirms the decease thug was shot in the front, he wasn't running away.

It is very frustrating listening to all the media reports and so-called experts give us ridiculous studies about how we are not properly policing. To start with NOBODY knows what occurred. Nobody has heard from the PO. The initial reports / eyewitness accounts turned out to be less the accurate and in some cases flat out lies. There was a existing video of a robbery that took place 10 minutes prior to the officer involved shooting, the resemblance of the offender in the the robbery and the subject shot by the PO are strikingly similar, M/B 6'04" 250-275 lbs. The family of the subject has complained that they have not had a chance to positively ID the subject in the video. Since the positive identification complaint I believe that it has been determined that the robbery offender and the subject involved in the OIS are in fact the same person. Since that occurred the family has accused police of assassinating his character. I'm sorry did we all miss something? Did the police force this guy to commit the robbery? Seems to me he assassinated his own character. It seems funny to me that the MO. Governor put the MO. State Police in charge, are the protesters speeding? Are there numerous traffic violators in Ferguson? Why would you have the state police run the show. Why does Eric Holder need to go and second guess the police? These events only fuel the problems. Why is there not this type of anger when real criminals choose to commit crimes against innocent citizens, some that all to often result in death. Allow the system to run its course before judgement is made. We have a criminal prosecution system that reviews, verifies accounts, then determines if a prosecution is warranted or if the actions were justified. If that process determines charges are warranted the court process begins to determine guilt or innocence. That's the system we have in the United States of America. I do not believe it is written anywhere that violence, looting, or damaging somebody else's property is used to determine if charges are warranted. We use facts, not personal opinions of how things should be. I sure hope some of the media who often read this blog read this before any more stories are written about this incident.
