Um...Based on What Exactly?
- A new poll reveals that Illinois' new concealed carry law, introduced in January, makes a majority of Chicagoans feel unsafe.
According to the Chicago Tribune, 55 percent of poll-takers said they felt "less safe" with the law permitting licensed gun owners to bear hidden weapons in public. Meanwhile, 15 percent said they felt "more safe" and 30 percent said they were indifferent.
If you read the rest of the article, there isn't a single reason given, a single question that was asked, a single statistic quoted that might cause anyone to believe Concealed Carry weapons have made anyone "unsafe."
But the media (and Rahm) want you to feel unsafe, so they come up with this poll to tell you just how unsafe you are - without any reasoning or proof. And Rahm has McPuppet out there touting a drop of 22 killings over last year as the results of the greatest crime fighting strategy ever developed and by golly, isn't Chicago safe as can be?
We'd counter that the drop of nearly two dozen homicides coincided directly with the implementation of Concealed Carry, therefore Concealed Carry works wonders. We offer no proof since NBC and Rahm offer none to their reasoning and everyone knows statistics don't lie and numbers can't be fudged.

Rham will be gone soon so who cares what he does.
I dont have a carry license yet and I feel safer. No doubt it gives these scumbags a little more to think about before they try and rob someone. Rahm and Mcwhatever are hopefully history soon. If you ask the right people on these no name surveys you get the answers you want. Ask any of the same fools if they would take a midnite stroll around their neigborhood. ANY neigborhood.
The 55 percent poll? . That just means'55'percent of people polled were felons .
How about this poll, you fucking idiot socialists? Ask if the rate of shootings, homicides, wildings, and violent crime in general in the city makes them feel unsafe?
Can't, can you? Because you are socialist pussies with a sick and twisted agenda.
The predators are the only ones that feel less safe..Just saying...
Yea ok.
Poll was taken at cook county D.O.C.
Numbers don't lie, but liars use numbers.
I don't even take the Chicago news serious anymore. It's all manipulated lies screwed towards their liberal agenda. I'm glad I have other means of getting the accurate picture through sites like this one and crimeinboystown.blogspot.com.
Communists feel less safe about taking over the government.
Is it safe? Is it safe?
Marathon Man, circa 1977.
"Concern about crime was represented by an increase in the percentage of voters who said they consider their neighborhood less safe since Emanuel became mayor," wrote the Trib.
Concealed carry? Has anyone found the Trib article, to which this thing has no link?
They had a sample of 40 people. Everything ended in five, ten percent. Childish, no mention of statistical validity, margin of era.
If those poll results didn't reflect their anti gun point of view you would never heard it from the Trib or NBC.
If the left "feels" it, it must be true. Not even "thinks" or "believes", but "feels". That's part and parcel of their philosophy that there is no absolute truth and are no absolute values, if merely "feeling" things can be dignified as a "philosophy".
A majority of people in Chicago feel unsafe because a majority of people in Chicago are criminals.
They probably went to Lincoln Park and polled exactly 100 soccer moms. Exactly 55 of them have been here long enough to believe the bullshit Daley and Rahm feed them. The rest just moved there from "free regions" of the US where gun laws are lax and (amazingly enough) crime is low.
Signed, NAC (Not A Cop)
That 'poll' is bullshit. Or if true, it adds more proof that 'Liberalism Is A Mental Disease'. The morons might as well associate the Price of Milk with feeling 'Less Safe'.
Honestly, how can anyone in their 'right mind' (see mental disease above), equate the Lawful Carrying of Firearms with feeling less safe. 'Less safe' that's solely due to Gangbangers creating carnage across the city? It's insane.
The entire media in Chicago produces so much garbage now that its pointless to even react. This is like a high school newspaper being run by the rich spoiled kid (9.5). I guess something that works everywhere else isn't good for Ill. That mentality is why Ill has turned into a national joke. Potatohead as a governor? Enough said.

Amen brother! Working as it should.
People who worry about CC licensees carrying guns must also worry that Joe Citizen becomes a raving arsonist if he's carrying a book of matches.
How do such fear-saturated people sleep, or ever leave their caves?
These people aren't even THINKING about concealed carry, until the poll question comes up. Then they ponder something about which they have no idea, and give their stock guns-are-bad emotional answer. These are the same people who would answer "yes" to the question "would you feel safer if the police didn't have guns?" They're sheep, and it's fine with me if they want to live in la-la land, as long as they don't try to impose their la-la land rules on those of us who live in the real world.
As for the effectiveness of concealed carry on Chicago murder numbers, it would be interesting to see year-over-year figures broken down by whether or not the victim had a felony record. It would be interesting, but it wouldn't tell the whole story, as it seems most gang-related murders must be committed under the assumption that the target is also armed. But when it comes right down to it, people who commit murders aren't firing on all cylinders. Analyzing it too deeply is sort of like trying to use chess strategy in a game of checkers. All the analytics in the world don't mean much when a bad guy is pointing a gun at you. Smart law-abiding citizens will arm themselves so they have that option available should it come to that, and that's the best we can hope for.
WHEN YOU SAY HAND GUNS -- WE SAY TIF FUNDS! Ready?
Fear is their business.
Creating fear is like creating a crisis that should not be wasted.
When an individual is in a state of fear you can do things that you would normally not get away with.
Fear is a distraction tool. You can not concentrate on the job at hand because you are concentrating on the fear.
Fear stifles innovation and creativity.
HAND GUNS -- TIF FUNDS -- HAND GUNS TIF FUNDS!!...
To gain entry to the CompStat meeting you must know the code words.
Knock three times and say:
Crime is down.

It feels safer knowing that regular law abiding citizens, (are there many left?,) are carrying. I will too, ASAP, and upon learning how to shoot, use it without hesitation. Can't wait to leave Illinois!
Hmmm... Why no poll about how we feel about red-light and speed cameras? I don't feel any safer with them, especially knowing the City of Chicago will try to Rahm me in the ass with a bogus ticket (pun intended)!
This poll is based on nothing other than Rahm trying to figure out which way the winds are blowing.
>Fart!<
This poll has the same amount o substance too...
Got told by a yuppie that she feels crime has gotten worse since people could carry guns. Of course when i said bad guys have always had guns she ignored me.
That's #4 in the liberal play book: ignore the truth.
Really, thats is why gun shops and trainers are flooded with business.
What else would you expect from the Chicago Communist (Democrat) controlled News Media? Just do yourself a big favor, turn it off and keep it off.

8/19/2014 01:04:00 PM"
That would include the armed citizens in the Englewood, Roseland, Lawndale& Austin neighborhoods Right?
I'd be willing to be that CCL holders were excluded from the survey, when a simple, disqualifying question was asked at the beginning of the interview;
"Do you hold a concealed carry license?"
If the respondent answered "Yes,"
I'm quite sure the interviewer's next statement was, "Ok. Thank you."
End of survey.
If you surveyed only CCL holders, asking them if they felt safer, I'm sure most, if not all would answer yes.
Figures lie. Liars figure. Surveys can easily be spun, if that's what you're looking to do.

What was the sample size? How was bias controlled for? What was the demographic contacted? When were they contacted? What were the questions asked?
Margins of error?
36.27% of the people on this blog want to know, ya know...
And the Trib and the Times wonder why they're teetering on the verge of bankruptcy.
Idiots.
There may be some fact to that issue as recognized by so many stores and business's with the 'No Guns' sign at their entranceway.
It's a double edged sword.
Some P/O's I've talked to are hesitant and not all agree with the Concealed Carry for Civilians. Some are reeling back on Traffic Stops.
Hell, I was shocked when Bush signed into law the Concealed Carry for Retired P/O's.
So I'm sure this comment will bring all you Charlton Heston pry-it-from-my-cold-dead-hands wannabee's opportunity for your rant that will follow...
Retired 30+ and simply not a gun lover. But support IROCC.
Be safe my brothers and sisters...missing a lot of you!
Never in my life did I consider owning a weapon, however, the last couple years I contemplated registering.
Yesterday, for the first time, I filled-out an FOID application.
You guys are the greatest, but I believe there will be a time, in the near future, we citizens will need to protect ourselves.
There will not be enough officers to respond to all 911 calls.
I pray for you guys and gals daily. Be safe.
