Now I know better than to trust the word of media witnesses. But It seems a lot of people have come out to say he was on his knees with hands raised when shot. If true, the coroners report will tell the real truth. It will dispel the witnesses and confirm the police, or not. Let's wait and see.

Blame it on single 'parent' households, the overall ghetto mentality, lax judicial systems, the gang and drug culture/lifestyle...whatever; there exists problems that are way beyond the means and/or not the responsibility of policemen to fix. And most of these problems are self-inflicted and so prevalent in certain communities, they've been dismissed as 'cultural', and therefore acceptable and unenforceable by law. To think otherwise it racist, dontchaknow?
And going balls-out, exploring the grey areas of policing and giving 110% trying to solve the problems of savages that are collectively beyond hope is foolhardy. The assholes rioting in Missouri need to be left to their own devices. The few 'good' people will know to leave (if they haven't already) before they become another statistic.
So yes, protect yourself and your job. Because when your coworkers in uniform are laying down their arms to join the ranks of a mob hell-bent on killing a policeman, yourself, friends and family are all you have.

Say what they will about Commander Evans, but one of the 1st things he did upon arriving to 011 was make A LOT MORE 2nd watch units mandatorily 2 Man Units. It's amazing how much easier the shit show goes when a unit arrives and 2 Officers exit the car, as opposed to one. It's just common sense. That's why they teach us 'you don't know what you're walking into'. Especially on a traffic stop. WE don't know what they did a few minutes prior, but THEY do, and they think we do, too.

28 years ago I naively thought I could do some good on this job. Met many brave officers & together we have witnessed unimaginable brutality that civilians could never fathom. Got some bad people off the street, temporarily, & sometimes people were glad to see the police. But for the most part people have always hated us & seem to hate us even more nowadays. If u skip to the 6 minute mark u will hear a guy in the background who was an eyewitness explain what happened....cop chased Brown, Brown turned and charged the cop...cop shoots Brown. I don't think to many people here have actually followed the story. There indeed is video evidence. The woman with the video evidence is unfourtanetly claiming everything most other witnesses are claiming -- but she does in fact seem like the more "reliable" witness than all the others.
The woman witness who took the video(whose name I believe is Tiffany Mitchell, look her interview up) also claims that Mike Brown had his hands on the squad door and was pulling away from the officer while the officer was yanking Mike Brown towards him from inside the car. Again, I don't recall her elaborating, but I believe she has video evidence all the way up until after the shooting -- which means she would have video evidence possibly proving if Mike Brown went for the Officers gun or not and if the officer stopped firing once Mike Brown surrendered then proceeded to fire.
To those of you who feel police officers betrayed you of some sort by marching with protesters (I don't recall hearing about them marching with protesters) THAT possibly is the reason a complete shit show didn't transpire last night for Ferguson and Saint Louis County PD. Like another commenter stated: Protesters there were actually guarding stores from being looted.

All the forms you fill out, arrest reports, case reports, citations, anything should only have first initial, last name and star number.
Everything in your personal life, your vehicles, credit cards, utilities accounts, magazine subscriptions, phone bills, club memberships all should go to a post office box.

I am glad you can wake up in the morning and look at at yourself in the mirror because you are alive! You followed your training and the law.
You also rid the world of a piece of human garbage who was only brought into this world to commit crimes and disrupt the lives of innocent people.
The people and the society that raised Michael Brown are at fault, their current actions are despicable. The leadership of this country is null, and has failed to unite us but instead divide us. But most important, the bottom feeding media has spiraled this situation out of control and fueled the fire that continue to instigate hate.
As far as the officers who crossed over to the picket lines, they are not truly officers but instead infiltrators who simply collect a paycheck. They are the real racists who choose color of skin over truth, justice, and loyalty.

So? It's 2014, all people needed was the cops name to find out where he lives. It's not private info. The cop is out of Ferguson and there is a police officer watching the house. Yahoo posted a picture of him and thedailybeast even dug up info on his mother being a con woman. It's just the power of the internet now-a-days.
Any who, SHOTS FIRED IN FERGUSON!! Was watching the livestream when it all went down. Police officers gave protesters an additional 45 minutes to disperse (because of the curfew) or face arrest and other police action. "Peacekeepers" seemingly get majority of the protesters to leave. There seemed to be atleast 5-10(give or take another 5) protesters left. Police fire tear gas, protesters run, some throw the tear gas back. Some one (a protester) sets fire or possibly molotov a store, other protesters quickly put the fire out. Police advance while additional backup comes from behind the handful of protesters left and someone from the protesters direction according to ViceNews livestream reporters is firing shots -- and we can hear ALOT of them, but it doesn't seem police fired back. But of course , I don't know. Doesn't seem any officers or anyone else was hit. A few protesters get arrested.
I doubt we'll be hearing about protests anymore. From the "opportunistic" looters and shooters in the crowd, I believe the Mayor should not allow anymore protests. Let the investigations come out.
I had an entire rant written up on why you should keep getting out of your car, but you know what, it's not needed.
All of you already know what I was going to say, that's why you're cops in the first place and that's why I have a great deal of respect for y'all.

"Ferguson, Missouri (CNN) -- A person is fighting for his life in Ferguson, Missouri, just hours after a curfew was imposed in order to bring calm to a city that's seen a week of protests and sporadic looting.

"Police fired smoke canisters on protesters in the first hour of the curfew. After getting reports of a shooting victim, police fired tear gas in order to get to the wounded individual..."
