Election Day Coming
Once again, it's time to vote for judges. And as long time readers know, we don't vote "YES" for a sitting judge.
Ever.
While you may feel differently, we're reminding everyone that there is a sitting judge who shouldn't receive a single vote from anyone who is the police, was the police, married the police, is related to the police, was ticketed by the police, or saw the police once when they were downtown catching a show:
Ever.

- [From our e-mail - SCC]I did see the name Anita Rivkin-Carrouthers on the judicial retention part of the ballot. Us old farts (I am in year 29 on the job) remember her as the POS private lawyer who defended Murray Blue, the killer of PO Daniel Doffyn and the wounding of (now Sgt) Mike Bubalo. Blue opened up on them with a MAC 10 as they ran to a home invasion that was across the street from the old 015. Her defense consisted of blaming the two victims for getting involved when they were off duty. She was also House Counsel to the Gangster Disciples, defending its members on serious charges and was also rumored to be Larry Hoover's galpal. To this day, she is openly hostile to POs appearing in her courtroom. She is also married into the corrupt Carrouthers family.
Last time she was up for retention, the FOP ran an campaign to remove her and she was barely
retained. I've already been in contact with Dean Sr regarding this to spread the word,
Could you possibly put this up as a topic?
Gladly. Here it is.

Thank you for this. I'm early-voting tomorrow and glad you posted this. Will pass it along to the rest of the family. (btw, you can early vote through Sunday)
I heard a radio ad on 720 pushing for voters to retain all judges on the ballot due to their professionalism and experience. I immediately began laughing uncontrollably and drove my car into a ditch.
That's like us suggesting retention of all police officers because they are all professional and experienced. We all know there are officers on this job that shouldn't have any sort of responsibility other than pulling fries out of the fryer. Same goes for judges; support the few just judges and dump the rest.
we don't vote "YES" for a sitting judge. -EVER
Can you repeat this in 72 point type on Saturday, Sunday and Monday?
No to all Judges. Who are they anyway?? 12 or 13 pages worth of 'em in the voting booth. Dump 'em!!!
Vote no - Judge Mary Ellen Coghlan. Sided with a gangbanger finding him guilty of "Attempt Murder", but not guilty of "Attempt Murder of Police Officer" which would have carried a longer sentence. POS tried to kill me and 2 other off-duty officers working a side job, fired 8 rounds at us. Even though we had police t-shirts, badges and gunbelts on. She believed his bullshit story that he didn't know that we were the police. She's a real piece of work.
I lost a DUI case in 405 when she was at traffic court. The asa told me we did not stand a chance due to the judge. The case was a good one and a looser.
Illinois Appellate Court Judge Thomas E. HOFFMAN was one of us. Please vote "YES" for his RETENTION. On the link below, scroll down to page 3 and check Tom's finish at #42 on the 1969 Detectives' List:
42.HOFFMAN, Thomas
While attending law school, Tom was a detective at Area 6 Auto Theft. Good guy!
There is only one RETENTION candidate for the Illinois Appellate Court on the ballot: THOMAS E. HOFFMAN.
Judge Hoffman is ex-CPD. Please vote "YES". His blood still runs blue.
A little late voted 4 days ago!
But i voted no on all judges.
I also did not vote for all the goofs who were unopposed.
Rivkin Carothers should not even be a lawyer let a lone a judge. She is extremely disrespectful and contemptuous of the police , disrespected Daniel Doffryn, ran out of a courtroom crying during trial of Aaron Patterson, and comes from a family of.corrupt political hacks:
Retired Commander A Carothers
Convicted ex aldermen William and Isaac Carothers.
She will be getting a no vote from me.
I did vote to retain Hoffman and two others that I knew when they were states attorneys. The rest - screw them.
All incumbents go, period.
lol, where I live, judges are not identified by party, in the interest of "non-partisanship", hehehehehe....
Voting "NO" of any sitting judge is the only way to go unless you know for sure that she/he/it is a hard-ass
I voted YES for Anna Demacopoulos. She always had our back when she was at the states attorneys office.
Sheila McGinnis is a convicted DUI offender but worse she's an idiot. So guess how she feels about the police. Very frustrating to sit in her courtroom.
How is she a judge?
Who is her clout?
Rush? Jackson? Davis?
I've always voted no to every judge on the list. That one vote won't keep a good to excellent judge from being relected but will go towards the the bad one's that do need to be tossed from the bench. That's my logic for what it's worth.
As for Quinn.................he has proven an inability to properly run state government. VOTE FOR BRUCE!
There may come a day when local/state/national offices will be run by successful business men instead of money hungry political hacks with the obvious skeleton in their closets as a prerequisite to enter politics.
She just flat out refused to reinstate an animal abuse case i had in her room despite the asa pleading with her.
Judge Anita Rivkin CAROTHERS; "The Gang Lawyer", Chicago Tribune July 24 1997; New York Times; represented "Larry HOOVER " "Murray BLUE"(convicted of PO Doffyns' murder) "Noah ROBINSON" 1/2 brother of jesse jackson, running for cicuit court.
Did Shiela McGinnis who is up for retention get off on a DUI last year? I had to look twice when I saw her name. My wife asked me if they were now nominating drunks to the bench. I told her it is a hollowed tradition.

Area Six? How the hell old IS he?
Who's her clout? Larry Hoover of course
Anymore judges that any of you recommend voting "yes" to besides Hoffman? Trying to send a list to family members. I'll tell them vote "no" for the rest of the judges. Thanks
I am glad to say I early voted and voted NO on all the judges. A note to FOP start putting this up earlier so that non police will know what to do when they early vote.
According to the Crook County election results website http://electionnight.cookcountyclerk.com/Summary.aspx?eid=110414
this DB (does NOT stand for database) was reelected by the sheeple demo's of Crook county. I am proud to say my vote was one of the 'No's.
