From the comments:
  • A bit off topic,
I am a red light camera installer.
I worked for Spaantech,A Xerox subcontractor. I have info about the times being changed for the Yellow,
and names of people at Xerox that told us to do it. Soooo who do I talk too?
I would like to give my info to the right people to do the most good.
Any help would be great. And A BIG THANK YOU!! TO ALL CPD.
not a cop, Just a really pissed of tax payer
The papers have had a few articles lately about the timing of yellow lights. If they don't want it, we'll spread it around. Our profiles are on the right hand sidebar.

Hmmm...

If this is verifiable/bonafide, perhaps it can be packaged as a "FUCK YOU" to Rahm and his propeller-head smirking, smarmy, smartassed wisenheimers crawling all over everything trying to false flag and plant misinformation.

"You wild-assed cops are the problem in Chicago..."

Oh really now?

But..But.. Red light cameras are supposed to increase safety and identify scofflaws. Why would they shorten the Yellow light times. All that will do is increase the number of red light tickets. They'd never do that!

My suggestions in the other thread were Joe Ferguson, Bob Reed or Preckwinkle (who'd love to stick it to Rahm.

But on reflection, I'd say: TAKE IT TO BEN JORAVSKY AT THE READER. (No offense, SCC.)

This is such a scam. God damn when will people wake up and stop voting for these democrats? I researched this awhile ago so I forgot, but I believe there is a federal mandate where the yellow light timer can be adjusted. No shorter than like 2 or 3 seconds and up to say 5 seconds. So why not adjust the yellow timers to 5 seconds, all of them if they are so worried about accidents? Because that's what the red light cameras are there for right? To prevent accidents or installed in accident prone intersections. There then would be no need at all for cameras, simple, problem solved. Burbank just installed cameras at 79th and 87th and Cicero, why? I've never seen that intersection accident prone in my life. I must pass 10 fucking cameras every day, each route there and back.

How about when the traffic signals change colors, all four corners are red for 2-3 seconds. This way, less crashes, everyone is stopped, no bogus yellow/red light violations etc. Might even give the pedestrian a fighting chance to prepare to cross the street safely.

I knew they were doing this!

It not only causes tickets, it causes accidents.

In the winter I was once going West on Ontario and the light changed so fast, I hit the breaks and almost slid in to the car ahead of me.

You don't have to be going over the speed limit or following too closely for that too happen, as I found.

I suggest the technician with this info. Contact the Drudge Report.

Locally there is a good chance it will all be slow walked or covered up or spiked by editors for some thing or another.

If it is reported nationally people are going to take notice.

You hit the nail right on the head. The vast majority of the citizens in this state and city blindly vote democrat election after election. Then they sit back and bitch about crime, red light cameras, low police manpower, mismanagement of funds, higher taxes, corruption, etc. etc. etc. For all of you out there that continue to vote for these corrupt thieves election after election, you got the government you deserve, and they in turn are giving you the police department you deserve. So shut the fuck up and enjoy your red light cameras and 30 minute police response times you assholes.

No wonder people try to disguise the plate but coppers still write them tickets, make it fair if a copper stops a citizen (if your illegal send them back) you should have the chance to maybe talk the copper out of writing it!

Thought you had the right to "face your accuser" then let them drag the camera and pole into court! Been seeing more rear bike racks covering the license plates hmm!

I like the way The socialists of the democratic machine run Chicago. If you want something done you go to the apperachik of the party, we call them aldermen here, and if you need something big you might get an audience with the great leader's closest people. If you pay bribes, things happen.

It's great practice for living in any third world
Country. I mean they won already. America is pretty much dead and the more we get flooded with third world illegals the more they'll vote for socialists anyway. You can't beat them so just join them.

Smita Shah is the owner of Spaantech. Her daddy is the owner of Globetrotters Engineering. They are short shanks people. They are side lined under tiny dancer. If you Google them there is plenty to read. I guess one of the few ways they are making money these days is with this. Once tiny dancer is gone they should have a lot more ways to make money again. I would love to see a shit storm come down on these two. They have been at this kind of stuff for a long time.

Just something about democrats....Denver got speeding cameras to 'keep the children safe in residential areas'.
Well, for some strange reason they were put up on I-70, 'clocking them dollars'.

Humor: Someone was mailed a picture of his vehicle and a ticket. He mailed in a picture of the amount of cash for the fine.
He got a letter from the pd with a picture of handcuffs......

I think something like 200 pedestrians per year are killed here.

The whole "allow turn on red" thing came in during the "energy crisis," the Arab oil embargo, as an "energy-saving measure," just let cars keep moving.

"Pedestrians have right-of-way over turning vehicles" -- and it'll say that on their gravestone.

She is just as corrupt as her daddy, any Daley or Emanuel. She will do NOTHING when it comes to ferreting out public corruption if the corrupted are members of the democratic party.

These intentionally short yellows and hair-trigger reds in Chicago are fucking obnoxious and dangerous.

Was visiting/driving in Ft. Lauderdale and almost got rear ended a few times because Rahm the little carnival pick-pocket has Chicago drivers conditioned to stand on the brakes at a yellow light even at the speed limit.

Long yellow.

4 way red with no turns allowed
to enable pedestrians to cross.

At least a 15 second no pedestrian crossing time for turning vehicles.

The big problem in Chicago is the traffic philosophy here.

Traffic "Control" is what we have here.

Traffic "Movement" is what we see in Ft. Lauderdale and other places.

Guess which one is less of a headache?
