- Prominent civil rights attorney Jon Loevy hopes to get into the medical marijuana business.
The Chicago attorney, who has taken on Chicago cops accused of police misconduct, is part of a group that wants to open a medical marijuana farm in downstate Edgewood.
“Illinois has created a real opportunity for profits, and a lot of the groups chasing this are hedge funds and private equity firms trying to get rich,” Loevy said. “We see this as an opportunity to reroute millions of dollars to education in Illinois when it’s really needed.”
Loevy and his partners have pledged to give away at least half of their earnings to educational initiatives throughout the state.
Anyone check the political contributions of all these people applying for weed licenses?

I always figured that the medical marijuana licenses would go to those who have clout. This isn't a surprise.
Attorney Jon has made $millions on the misery of others. Time to invest those ill gotten gains into selling weed. Lawyers have absolutely no morals or soul.

I think the idea they have is to attract investors and end up suing them for every cent they have.

If Loevy actually cared about the public school system he would not be taking on these criminals cases and taking it to the media with all the lies. He has no conscious what so ever. He is a liberal thief. He will take millions in fees from the tax payers knowing that his client is a lieng cheating pos. But, now he wants to give money to the public school system. Although it would never happen I'd love to see DEA pinch them. Marijuana is still against federal law.
After reading that the Daley family and now Loevy are entering the "medical" marijuana business, any copper still locking people up for having weed is nuts.
I would be careful about granting a license to a man who has personal (not professional) relationships with connected felons. One glaring example is his employment of Steve Manning, his office managers relationships. I sure hope the state does due diligence on the character and past business practices of these goofs.
