New Chicago Magazine Article (UPDATE)

Coming out today, and the subject is....
  • FYI...Monday morning we are posting the 3rd installment of our investigation into the department's crime stats. I will send the link as soon as I get it from the web folks.
The first two articles pretty much tore apart the CompStat lies. We expect more of the same from the folks over at Chicago Magazine. They make the short list of journalists actually doing their jobs lately.

As soon as we get the link, we'll post it.

UPDATE: Here's the link.

For some fun, FOIA the CompStat numbers yourself and see what you get. I'll give you a hint: nothing. The Supt will not release any CompStat info via FOIA in violation of the law. He and goofball Tracey were brought here to implement CompStat and now hide the truth. Lawsuits are in the works.

Chicago Magazine is pretty much a fluff publication. It takes them to properly investigate our crime stats?

Every other so-called investigative reporter should be ashamed.

As I recall, the articles actually fell kinda flat. They pointed out some issues with how assaults were counted, but didn't really challenge the compstat concept. They talked about death investigations but couldn't come up with anything significant, just a few anecdotes.

Unless this is different, I don't expect anything earth shattering. Probably because there really isn't anything earth shattering. Maybe if you actually knew what compstat was about, SCC, or went to a Thursday meeting, you'd see that it's not a big deal.

Why would any police officer in his right mind be proactive in this city? For all the college degrees, you young officers have no common sense. Let's see what can end up costing you your career or going to jail. I'm not even going to get into getting killed.

1). Contact cards. You must be an idiot to just stop people and ask for info. You dumb asses, these people are setting you up to get paid.

2). Traffic stops, ANOVs and Parking Tickets. Keep putting money into Rham's pocket. Avoid confrontation and making revenue for the machine.

3). Chasing dope. You think your doing the right thing but you are not. Fastest way to lose your job. Society is not against the addict or the drug dealer. They are against the cop.

So what should you do to earn your keep?
1). Back each other up!!

2). Answer all your calls with proper documentation on everyone of them. More is better when it comes to documenting including unsafe conditions. Fucked up squad car? Don't take it out. Come on the radio and drive straight to the Area. I've seen too many officers willing to compromise their safety by driving these pieces of shit squad cars. Do you see these punk exempts? Are they driving in squad cars with 100k? Do yo see the paint peeling from hoods? Citizens make fun of CPD squad cars! There's no pride in this dept.

3). Look sharp in uniform. Appearance does command respect!!! Work out. Our job is stressful. Don't be a fat ass!! This way you win when it comes to the pension. Do you want to retire at 55 and die at 57? Fuck them!! And by the way fuck you FOP for not pushing mandatory fitness requirements to keep our officers in shape.

4). Wave to people from the squad car 10x an hour. . Yeah I know it's the ghetto but guess what? Would you rather be on video giving the finger and losing your job or waving hello? 100k to wave to citizens. Call me Queen Elizabeth.

5). Check in on the people that matter on your beat. Just a quick hello. They will come to your defense when you need them. As far as the predators. Smile but be confident knowing you can exterminate them because you are the baddest motherfucker on the block. So take your ass to the range once a month.

Words of wisdom from your Sgt.

My "spider sense" is telling me that most/all of this summer's Leftist politic protests, riots are going to be focused around Black "Civil Rights", "police profiling", "Black Lives matter etc".

The Anarchist, Leftists had some other issues like opposing NATO, Climate Change or raising the minimum wage, but these are all fizzling.

The George Soros type funding all going to Ferguson MO style protests/riots.

Plus with the final year and a half of the Obama Admin Black political folks are going try to "GET WHATEVER THEY CAN WHILE THEY STILL HAVE THE WHITE HOUSE.

So I ask if Second City cop can help regular citizens (Including decent Blacks) get information and education on what best to do in these Black Lives Matter, Hands up don't Shoot protests, riots, Black flash mobs or full blown Baltimore, '68 Black race riots?

The regular citizen is getting "concerned" feeling very much alone.

How do we work with groups like Asian/Arab store owners? What was done in Los Angeles after the terrible Rodney King riots in the early 1990s. There haven't been really any Black riots in Southern CA since then and frankly there aren't very many/any Blacks left in Southern California.

Did law enforcement, business elite work with Latinos to basically ethnically cleans Black African Americans out of Southern California.

FYI, just so we can keep the city honest... as the story was told, 4 or 5 days ago a female about 50 years old was found dead in a house she was house sitting for in englewood, the 007th district. Upon arrival she was found with severe head trauma and it is apparent that she was brutally beaten. Medical examiner has classified this as a homicide by means of blunt force trauma to the head and body. This case is still classified as a death investigation and has not been tallied into the homicide count for the city and 007th district. Why you ask? Because the new commander from 007 blew a gasket on the scene the day she was discovered when a police officer on scene said "looks like she got beaten really bad". The commander flipped his lid and said "hey your not a detective or a doctor so keep your comments to yourself because im not dealing with another homicide.. the way i see it is she most likely was a drunk or crackhead who fell down".

30 years ago Pam Zekman did an expose on Chicago Police Bosses "killing crime" on paper by fudging the stats. It's nothing new.

This department has been rigging the stats for as long as there have been stats to rig.

The FBI doesn't accept our crime numbers. Ever wonder why?

It's not the City. It is the lying bastards we keep electing to run the city that are the problem.

Same problem with the County, State and Nation. We elect corrupt thieving trash that promisse us goodies in exchange for our votes. In the mean time, they and their buddies loot the treasury and our pensions.

As far as the portal I could care less. This number shuffle has gone on forever. I remember Dicks who refused to play along got shipped back to patrol in the old days.
My partner and I were working some leads on some of our old murders and the LT told us he only cared about murders that occurred during his tenure. I wish I could say it surprised me but similar things happened so many times over the years it was routine.

Uic,northwestern,Loyola, northeastern,Chicago state, and univ of Chicago all have their own police depts.how about sanitary district property or railroad property. Lots of crimes handled by other police agencies in Chicago.

Funny that McMooky was talking shit about hunting down those "traitors" who were giving this info to Chicago Magazine...

So...
Guess those rumors about the Feds whistling in Police executives from NYPD and Newark P.D. regarding similar crime stat fuckery now occurring in Chicago, weren't bullshit after all?

McCarthy is too stupid, egotistical and stuck on believing his overblown hype as heir apparent to Bill Bratton's legacy.

May the Feds stick it in his moon while standing in front of him...

True happiness was hoping McCarthy and that other New Yuck wonder-cop Bernie Kerik could've shared a cell.

...They would've had a whole bunch to talk about.

Just go back in Chicago history, In November 1982 WBBM's Pam Zekman ran stories on "Killing Crime". The series showed how the department was ordering officers to downgrade on initial case reports. The downgrades were from burglary to thefts and further to criminal damage and loss non-criminal. Detectives also were directed to downgrade on supplemental reports. These directions came through supervisors and no doubt were ordered from the 5th floor in city hall.

The city has management that is topography challenging to the people at the top. Back not that many years ago we had bosses that knew how to handle out of control thugs, I remember jimmy Maurer ordering the gas teams out on 16th st during the Bulls riots, at 1 time we had real independent leaders, now we have none! Thanks to the elected pandering to the link card holders, the media, and the thugs, setting up the anti-police bias this is what happens! How many police on the street do we actually have? How about all the promises made for new vehicles in the contract ((dean hello wake up), how about new equipment, how about hiring? The blame falls on the elected!

When you can hand out 5.5million dollars on the Burge lie then be a member of the city council and you applauded the thugs you gave tax money to for something Burge was accused of but not proven what dies that say? 5.5 million would of been nice to donate to the police survivors you know the family of Chicago police officers killed by the thugs what a disgrace!

Concerns were strong and vocal with regards to the underfunding of the pension back in the early 80's but your average street cop has very little control. Ask yourself how well is you FOP doing and how are YOU contributing before you cast stones.
